I gave up dairy for an entire month in hopes to drop a few pounds and help clear my skin. Was it truly worth it or is the "no dairy" trend a scam???

I’ve been dairy free for 8 months. I lost 36 pounds in 5 months. My weight is steady now. My acne has gone away. My asthma has significantly improved.

I found that giving up dairy and foods with processed sugar made a really big difference with my skin. The strange thing is that my doctor told me that it would have no impact but it made a huge difference.

Girl! Eliminating dairy literally killed my endometriosis pains.
I don’t take pain pills anymore and I’m not debilitated on my cycle!!!!

I tested it myself. It’s been almost 13 months now and trust me, it’s actually MUCH better. My body has improved in many aspects (acne, bloating, sorenesses, inflammations)

Sleep is the #1 thing that has an effect on my skin. Going to bed at 10 and waking up between 6 and 7 made the biggest difference for me. I believe it’s due to hormone regulation. I read up a bit on our natural circadian rhythms and it made a lot of sense. Just something to look into if you’d like😊

It took about 4 months for my skin to clear from dairy/animal products. It's different for everyone but it does usually take more than a month

I think u were purging. That happens when u cut out something out in a diet or add something in ur skincare. Purging happens when ur body is taking the gunk from ur skin to the surface to clean ur skin from inside and out! Don’t give up please 😅

There's so much that can affect your face; how much you touch it with your hands, if you sleep on it loose- all that hair product gets on your face, how quality your makeup is, how well your skin washing stuff is, do you wash your face, do you wash your pillowcases, as oils from your body while sleeping get on that and rub on your face all night, are you on the phone a lot- cellphones can harbor that oil and bacteria and re-deposit it back on your face. Do children grab your face? Partner touch your face to kiss or play with you? What do they have on their hands? Do you lie with your face on their chest at night sleeping? What soaps do they use or oils they have on their body? There's much out there that all you can do is really try to be aware. Even drinking water doesn't do much to clear your face by itself- it can't expel bacteria or unclog pores. I wish anyone luck on their face care journey

Also, one of the most freeing things for me was to realize that having acne is not my fault. I follow the anti- acne "rules", but I still have it. And other people can do anything to their skin and not have it. It's just an annoying thing that may stick around for a while. I think we have to accept ourselves, and appreciate all the other amazing things our bodies do. Sorry for the rant...this is important to me lol

Agh! i remember back in 2018 I gave up dairy, and was the healthiest and slim i've ever been, no inflammation, better sleep, energy and wanted some motivation to give up again, so thanks a lot!

I think your skin was just purging. When I went vegan my skin totally cleared up, I actually thought I had oily skin but when I went vegan I realized my skin was normal and super healthy. You shouldn't be so impatient, besides clear skin is not the only benefit, there are plenty

I wish you gave it longer. My skin improved loads by giving up dairy and animal products. I also have PCOS and spots are hormonal, but very few during menstruation. I also take one seperate vitamin B with my multivitamin. I have been taking the extra vitamin for 3 months and my face looks even better.

Hopefully you find something that works for you and you feel happy with your skin.

Dairy allergies are one of the hardest things to diagnose and if people have low grade ones, then when they stop eating dairy their skin clears up and a bunch of other things become better.

Personally when I went low dairy it caused my joints to ache less. I was having inflammation responses to eating dairy and my body feels better without it as a dietary staple.

Thank you so much for this video, honestly. About 7 years ago I was diagnosed with a Dairy allergy and I was very upset. I refused to stop eating dairy (even though I had the risk of eczema flare ups) and just used steroid creams to get rid of my reaction. Back then there was a limit to certain foods that I enjoyed without dairy and the products needed became expensive during covid. For 7 years. Just 4 days ago I started my journey to get my body back healthy and I noticed that my stomach stops bloating and I feel less groggy in the mornings. I have more energy to get up and study etc. And seeing you do it for 30 days is really bringing my hopes up, thank you!!!

Hey Kayla! Thank you for sharing. My friend also had a super bad breakout when she gave up dairy. When she brought dairy back into her diet her skin cleared up. Everyone's different so that's just something to think about.

Thank you for your honest review of this! Most people are so over the top with how much change happened when cutting something out and unfortunately that’s not the case for everyone!

I went to a natural doctor, I tested highly allergic for dairy. It’s been the best thing for me. As for the acne part, she also put my on a good probiotic (not just a drug store one) it helped more than anything I have ever done.

Hey! I struggled with skin issues for YEARS. Eventually, I went to a dermatologist and she recommended Isotretinoin for me. I was scared to take it because I had heard what a serious drug it was... so I turned to a naturopathic doctor first and she tested me for food intolerance to see if food was affecting my acne at all. It was a blood test, when it came back I was off the charts for ‘whey’ and ‘casein’. All properties of dairy... so I went completely dairy free and have been for years.

However, it didn’t completely clear my skin like some people say it did for them... and I found assuming that I was doing something wrong every time I got a new pimple was almost damaging to my relationship with food and made me anxious. Eventually, I went back to that dermatologist and went on Isotretinoin, and i’ve had clear skin for 3 years and counting. I’m still dairy free because I am intolerant, but my face needed more help than just food. I managed to get off all my acne creams since Isotretinoin and just use a simple cleanser ‘cerave’ and cerave moisturizer in the tub... and my face has never been better. I suggest following ‘dr. Dray’ if interested in the ingredients companies put in your skin care. She helped me make informed choices on what to put on my skin, whether to exfoliate or not etc.
Good luck with your skin, acne is such a difficult struggle. And people suggesting to just ‘wash your face’ have never actually struggled with serious acne if they’re suggesting something as simple as that. OBVIOUSLY if you have acne you’re washing your damn face to try and help it 🙄
