I just found out that Shanda Vander Ark was given life in prison without the possibility of parole. The judge said that the torture she put her son thru was bad enough to depart from the sentencing guidelines and instead of 50-100 years, she got life w/ out. Well deserved.

My absolute favorite thing about people getting cross examined is how they remember in intricate detail everything ever that makes them look good, but have absolutely no memory of anything that makes them look bad, be it witness statements, recordings or their own past statements.

What’s really insane is that in 3 hours of testimony Shanda NEVER once said anything nice about her son. She described him as sneaky, manipulative, disruptive, annoying and stupid. I’ve listen to her testimony a few times and NEVER ONCE did she ever say anything positive about Timothy. Not once. Just think about that

And when he gets called out for sending a letter to the mother he speaks in the shakiest old man voice he can muster “WeLl nObOdY wOuLd LiStEn To Me”.
