I always do this exact thing. It also good when you use simple deform but next step is normal transfer to have proper shading.

There are 4 n-poles when you connect the vertices arising out of bevel with the corner verts.

I have an idea for your outro. When the videos are square (or tall) you could make the end logo with name part have an effect of the black bars being vertically filled from the center with white, so theres no bars in the end! I think it would look v cool.
