If you have the need to clone your Windows system drive and either user it in another computer or clone it to a larger drive to get more space, you can do so easily using the free Marium Reflect software. This also comes in handy to copy your data from a failing hard drive to a new one before it crashes. If you are installing the drive in a computer with hardware that is quite a bit different than the source computer, you might need to use the Home or Workstation version that comes with Macrium ReDeploy.

Here is a link to the website where you can download Macrium Reflect Free and the pay for versions.

Here is a link to a video for software that will allow you to rearrange your hard drive partitions so you can extend your new drive to use all of the space if you run into that problem when cloning to a larger drive.

Check out our book (Computers Made Easy) that is designed to take your computer skills to the next level!

I have a failing hard disk drive which my PC uses to run windows etc and my computer manages to transfer files in intervals to an external drive. I want to replace the failing drive but I don't know if I need to install another hard disk hard drive then use this tool to clone. My question is can I clone the failing drive on an external drive take out the failing one and run it on the external like before then eventually install a new hard disk?
