Recipe:
1 cup butter
16 tbsp sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt

Instructions:
Preheat oven 180° C or 356° F

Add butter and sugar to a bowl and mix them together

Add vanilla and egg and whisk them together

Sift flour salt and baking powder together

Knead with hands until dough forms

Roll out dough at least 0.5 cm thick on a clean surface

Transfer cookies to baking tray and bake in oven for 6-7 minutes

Ingredients:
225g softened butter
200g granulated sugar
1 large egg
1tsp vanilla
360g plain flour
2tsp baking powder
1tsp salt

1) Preheat your oven to 180°C/ Gas Mark 4/ 160°C (fan)

2) Add the butter and sugar to a large bowl and cream them together.

3) Add the egg and vanilla and whisk them in.

4) Sift in the flour, baking powder and salt.

5) Mix everything together with your hands to form a dough.

6) Flour a clean surface and roll out half of your dough around 0.5cm thick. Repeat with the other half separately.

7) Cut out shapes with some cookie cutters, then roll out the excess and repeat the process.

8) Transfer the cookies to a baking tray.

9) Bake for 6-7 minutes.

10) Enjoy!

I am highly disappointed with this recipe. I followed everything and the cookies spread, you normally dont use a raising agent in cookies especially decorative ones. I'd recommend finding a cookie recipe without baking powder
