In this full #review I will explain all the specs of the 2024 #Lexus #tx350 then take it for a test drive. The TX is all-new for Lexus which it's bigger, more third-row leg room and towing than an RX. It shares the same powertrain and platform as the Toyota Grand Highlander that will bring some quirks which will bring me to my pros and cons.

That 2.4 liter I-4 is a deal breaker for me. The N/A V-6 should have been retained.

I like everything except for that 2.4 turbo. V6 naturally aspirated engine would make this a sweet car.

How many hours do you think it would take the service department to perform the installation?

I felt like the the turbo 4 was struggling with three of us on a test drive. I couldn’t imagine a full tank of gas, suitcases and all those seats filled. Towing ….haha….yeah right.

Lexus should build their engines like Mazda and that means you can use 87 or 91 octane gasoline.

With all new suvs I recommend you get a hitch with minimum a bully accessory for rear end collision. Most trunks/ rear doors are flushed with the bumper. Imagine the repair bill at the body shop.

Not a fan of the turbo 4. Gas mileage isn't that different from V6 competition and despite only having 10 more horsepower than the Grand Highlander, this takes premium gas which means it costs about as much (according to EPA) to fuel for a year as a Tahoe. At the very least if its going to be slow let it use regular gas and save $5000 over the next decade of use.

Grand highlander got a real bad crash test result (acceptable ), so how do you think about the tx ? Thank you

The 4cyl turbo is extremely powerful great job !

Get rid of all that technology and add more luxury features, like ambient lighting, soft close doors, wood, velour headliner, etc . The Grand Highlander would be the better choice because there is not much difference but the price which is more for the Lexus because you are paying for the ‘L ‘ on the hood 👎🏾

Good review - but Lexus's shortfall on the TX is not having 3 seats on the 3rd row (6 seats max with second-row captain chair) - unlike the Grand Highlander (7 seats max with second-row captain chair)- something important for growing families - plus the 60/40 adds more versatility.

Have had one of these for a few weeks now and agree on all the comments on the turbo 4 banger. Just doesn’t feel like a Lexus drivetrain. The old LS v8 engines must be rolling over in their graves. Not smooth, too loud, and not enough juice. Wife loves it so far but I’m disappointed. The V6 hybrid should have been standard, especially at this price point.

This lexus compares to the qx60 not the body on frame qx80 with a v8...🤔.

Good review. Taught me it's clearly superior to the Grand Highlander in ride comfort, seat comfort, quietness and has more interior soft touch surfaces.

The third row seats do not lie flat when down . There is about a 4 inch difference front to back. Not good for pet crates or anything that needs to be kept level.

Went to look at the first dealer delivered TX models here in Indianapolis and I have to say, the TX is an impressive vehicle as a whole. Unfortunately, the details make this model a non-starter for us. Especially the drivetrain. 2.4 turbo is just NOT enough engine and is just not "Lexus-like" in smoothness. In order to get to the drivetrain you want, it pushes the MSRP North of $70K. Also, they really dropped the ball with that front end. Lexus looks are already polarizing and I personally feel this is a "miss" for the brand. So, we will wait for the 2nd gen TX to see what develops. I DO have high hopes for the new GX and if it looks as good in person as it does on the web, it may make my concerns about the TX irrelevant, even though the GX isn't as big.
