that 2.4 engine was probably to meet emission standards in other countries. 300 ft/lbs of torque is more than enough for a family suv.

I like that the belt reminder only chimes 3 times, compared to the CX-90 that chimes 8 times!!! I know this is a very tiny thing, but I just wanted to mention it.

Damn I knew this was Austin TX within the first 5 seconds of outdoor shots

I do wish they would offer the 500h on non-F SPORT Performance models. More than $65k with just a turbo 4cyl doesn't quite cut it. TX 500h Luxury would be a sweet spot.

After reading many comments, there are a few things to grasp:
It’s a mommy-mobile. Overpriced as it is, this is gonna crawl the parking lots of Costco and idle in traffic for the majority of its life.

And as for people questioning the reliability, you really need to do your proper research on powertrain development. First, the engine designation name is “T24A-FTS”. The engine carries over many reliable features that the previous naturally-aspirated engines were known for. A few examples are a mechanical water pump, a solid valve-train, aluminum cylinder head and block, water-to-air intercooler. There are a lot of cars out there that can’t boast the same features.
And although a turbocharged engine will wear more easily than a naturally aspirated engine, most of the targeted buyers of this segment won’t keep the vehicle for more than 3-4 years. Just visit a used dealership.

I wonder what the value of my 2021 Highlander Platinum Hybrid is going to be. I am 27 months in on a 36-month lease and only have 13k miles on it. It is in excellent condition too. I wanted to hear your review on this TX 350, and I do agree with you about opting for the TX 500 FSport.
I just wonder what type of equity I will receive to use as part of my down payment. I shall see. Thank you for your straightforward reviews. 👍

I'd love to see a weight breakdown showing all the luxury (or must more upscale) items and how much weight they add. I just don't get how adding some better leather and extra electronic goodies can add that much weight (16:40). Obviously they do, I'm not arguing that, I'm simply curious.

i definitely understand why Lexus made this thing. they were lacking a legit 3 row SUV forever. but i have to say, Lexus is usually good at differentiating from Toyota but this car I can hardly tell the difference from the Grand Highlander. Certainly don't see $70k here. I believe you that its smoother than the toyota but idk.

Chris, The consensus is really growing that Lexus should have made a non-plug in, 300 hp, V6 Hybrid the base powertrain for the TX. As much as I admire it, I am willing to admit the 2.5 Hybrid from the Grand Highlander is a little weak for a Luxury application. 😉

Grand Highlander Hybrid MAX vs the TX350 - what would you pick for the price? Loaded GH max is till 10-15k cheaper than similarly equipped TX with a less powerful engine.

@thetopher how is the road noise? ride comfort? plush?

This vehicle feels redundant with captains chairs and seating for 6. The reason they made the grand highlander in the first place was that larger third row and hauling more people comfortably

The turbo 4 is very interesting when you are behind the wheel! Topher says it is quite but when I test drive the NX F Sport 350 it was really odd to hear that buzzy whine noise noise coming from this luxury product. There needs to be much more refinement coming from this luxury segment or else it really makes no sense to continue manufacturing the Lexus nameplate. Just my honest opinion.

Thanks, very interesting. In terms of ride comfort (suspension), particularly over rougher surfaces, is TX more or less comfortable compared to the Grand Highlander (also Acura MDX, etc)?
