T7 is the Hilux of Adventure Bikes. Super reliable, easy to get parts and accessories, comfortable to ride and solid resale. But for me, it just doesn't put a real 'smile on your dial' like others in the category.

I'm pissed that the T7 WR isn't available in the US for 24. I'd trade my KTM 890 ADV R in a heartbeat.

I'm with Sean. Keep it light, keep it simple. A few subtle mods just to help with grip. Tyres, pegs. I'm never that far from fuel that I need the larger fuel range. I ride for fun, not because I have to be somewhere miles away in the middle of nowhere.
Great vid as usual guys.

I think there's something really special about the T7, I'm happy to see it becoming more and more popular. Although it's still a heavier bike, I think it's a good thing people are moving more towards middle weight ADV bikes. To me it just seems more safe for everyone. I'm also just tired of seeing the GS lol

So wish we could get World Raid in North America. Was able to sit on one in a Dealer when visiting Spain a couple weeks ago....too bad it wouldn't fit in my carry on or it would have came home with me.

Wow, $25, 500 Aussie Dollars for a World Raid? In the UK they are being discounted to £10, 500 new which equates to $19, 750 Aussie and on top of that you get £1250 ($2350) worth of Yamaha free accessories thrown in! I guess we are closer to France which is where they are built but even so...

Great comparison, Dave - you definitely showed that there is good value to be had going with an older gen T7!
I do find myself every now and again regretting selling my 19 T7, especially when I'm on the freeway on my WR250R, but then I forget about it when I'm in the tough stuff 😆

Great comparo review.
The 2019 would get my vote with the suspension mods, but I would go for the camel side tank like the ride adv boys use..

Push the check choke lever all the way over as far as you can push and hold it will make a difference for cold starting.

Now I know why my last bike didn't live up to expectations, for touring. I didn't have enough farkles attached to it. 🙂

5:09 "How much does it weigh?"

There's a quote I saw on r/motorcycles, probably butchering it, but it's to this effect: "The guy that inows how much their bike weighs, is the guy that doesn't ride it."

Whether you want to take that as: "Once you get rolling it doesn't matter, doesit?"
or
"If I was just moving around the garage and not riding I'd be bothered to know how much it weighed innit right?"

Is up to you, I choose to interpret it as; if you care how much your bike weighs, it's not being used (to it's full potential) and just being pushed around in a garage. As that's the only time weight matters.
