Transmoto Tested: Yamaha Tenere 700 Adventure Bike

Has Yamaha’s Tenere 700 been upstaged or even superseded by the recent release of more sophisticated (and more expensive) adventure bike offerings from the likes of KTM, Husqvarna, Ducati and Husqvarna? Or has this landmark, parallel-twin-powered Tenere stood the test of time? Does it continue to sell like hotcakes because of that relative simplicity, and the fact that, as a package, it just works so well both on and off-road? We got together with a selection of experienced adventure riders to find out...

It's a phenomenal all-around bike, I have 12k on mine ridden on and off-road across Europe on my 2021 Blue Rally, the engine is excellent and the rest of the package fantastic.

I had a bmw with all the electronics and rider modes in the world and never used any of it. Sold the BMW and got a Tenere 700 and have never been happier.

"Flown under the radar" haha if anything i think it is overhyped.
Wonderful bike for the price and that is why i own one.
I actually love the looks too.
The only electronics i would love is cruise control.
If it was as expensive as it's competitors (890, 901, toureg) it would not be nearly as compelling.

After 2 years still enjoying my T7. For me it's about making the bike lighter as possible. I've done suspension work which makes the bike so much better. The tank design is poor IMO. The tank could had been so much lower. When the bike has about 5 litres of fuel in the tanks is when I really like the bike. Less weight up top. And why a metal tank?
