While I agree about adding lights to improve conspicuity and night riding, I also think they should be mounted such that they are protected by the crash bars. I did that on my Super Tenere, and never damaged a light despite several times when my bike ended up on the ground.

Dear Twisted throttle thanks for your review, Generally you have up Speced the bike in a favourable way with Barkbusters and SW Mototech gear, i have these on my T7 personally and they work well .
The bash Plate i have Gone for a B & B off road plate which extends past the lower rear shocker mounting yoke to provide slide over and skid and crash protection.
The rear rack is a good idea and the roll top bad ( soft luggage also a good idea ) there are many around so this is personal choice .
Where i differ and Iam only provide Constructive feedback is the hard side panniers . If you are Hard core and weaving in out out of single tracks as well as open road bitumen doing 500 kms a day, then you want to keep width and weight down to a minimum, thats why i would choose soft luggage side panniers that hug the bike like Giant loop, wolf man, Endurostan Blizzard etc, otherwise a very informative and good video, keep up the good work :)

Can you tell us how you install Denali lights to the Tenere 700, seems there’s a problem getting a full beam wire, to work with the Data Dim. How have you got round this? Are you going to do a plug and play wiring harness for the T700?

Does the motorcycle industry in general love to nickel and dime people or is this more of an Adventure bike thing? I mean, they sell you the light, then the harness, then the mounts, and/or anything else you may need separately. WTH!

It's only logical that if I want to lights I will need the hardness and the mounts. Some of those "mounting brackets" are so damn inexpensive to do. A punch press, a few minutes in a tumbler, some pain and you are done. You can produce thousands in just a few hours, and they are selling them for 50-60 plus dollars. Amazing! Why can't they just sell you a kit like I have seen so many car aftermarket manufactures do?

I need to do what my ex did. Took a set of off roading car lights, made his own mounts, some rubber gaskets, and some some hardware and parts from a local car store and mounted in his KTM. It looked better than a lot of lights I have seen specifically made for bikes. To the point that many ADV riders often asked him where he had bought the lights. Some creative thinking, some modified auto parts, and some homemade mounts sprayed painted with a spray can, about half a day of labor and he paid less than half what just the lights alone cost for bikes.

All the mods to his bike except for crash bars and luggage racks he made. I just got a new Ténéné 700 4 days ago from the dealer, and that might be the route I'll be taking too.
