I test rode three bikes before making a decision, the Tiger, the VStrom, and the V85TT. I was impressed with the Tiger and liked it a lot, it was quick, light, and nimble. The VStrom was likewise light, quick, and nimble, but it just didn't make me want one after riding it. The V85TT was a bit heavier (although it carries it's weight well with a low centre of gravity), nimble, and not quite as quick as the other two with less power.
I went with my heart not my head and bought the V85TT. The Travel model had almost every extra I wanted as standard fitment and it was the only one with shaft drive. The engine character sold it for me, the engine and torque is lovely and just so comfortable to ride. After 11, 000 miles I'm having more fun on this bike than any other I've owned.

Have 9000 miles on my Norden Expedition and love it.
I’d be pleased with any on this list.
Ride and love what ya got! 🏍️💨

Waiting for the next iteration of the Transalp 750 with double stacked, rally, headlight, tubeless tires, and cruise control.

I've got a tiger 850 sport, I've been to ABR now for the past 4 years and had it off road every time. I have come to the conclusion that the bike is more capable than my riding off road abilities are, yet watching endless clips of fishtailing bikes, sliding under perfect control and plenty of hight in jumps, I've realised, what ever you ride, if your happy, it's the right one!

Nice review and really cool you mentioned Guzzi in this class. It's well deserved 👌

Current(2022) extremly satisfied Tiger owner. While I am sure I would enjoy the extra power and other changes. I simply feel no need to upgrade to the 24 model. I am quite content with what I have. But across the board the middleweight ADV bike segment may be the best one in terms of choices in all of motorcycling.

The design of the Suzuki is heart soothing and will look good after years and what a bike it is.

I recently bought the Transalp 750 and I'm loving it. I traded in my Versys 650 so this is a much-needed upgrade.

Love the Honda Transalp. Had it for a weekend. On the Wishlist 😍

Got myself the Transalp last week, and it's waiting on the garage for the heavy rain to stop. I come from a V-strom 250 and a (old 2009) 650, and the plan was upgrading to the new 800DE, but after test driving both, and the CFMoto 800MT, the Tracer 700, and my father have the BMW GS850, the choice was pretty simple. I bought it with almost all extras I can get from Honda, so price wise it was way over the 10k. But I think, for my use, it was the right purchase.

Just bought a Tuareg 2024. Very good handling and fun in the trails and sharper piloting on the road than I was expecting! And better comfort than the T7. Great sound and torque for a 660! Very happy

Nice overview, you’ve shown that there are some really great bikes in this category, just depends on what you’re looking for. I spent about a year researching my next purchase, coming from an ‘08 VStrom 650. I wanted something lighter with a lower C.G., better suspension, tubeless, some electronic aides, easier air filter access (sorry, I don’t like removing the gas tank to get to the filter!) NOT needing more HP. I ended up buying a Taureg 660. We still have ice and snow on our roads and I can’t say too much about the Tuareg, but I can say that the quick shifter is amazing, especially for someone who likes to ride standing up. Looking forward to the spring thaw!

This best bike for you is the bike that gets the best service and aftermarket support both at home and where you ride. My good friend and riding buddy is dumping his Tuareg as it spent way too much time in the dealership following their issues doing the routine service. Which is really too bad, as I enjoyed riding it when we swapped bikes.

I would add two motorbikes that will greatly change the motorcycle world. The CF MOTO 800 MT Explorer and the new VOGE 900 DSX. The first company produces for KTM and the second for BMW. The quality is at a very high level. Incomparable equipment for the price.

I have chosen the BMW F850GSA It is a 2023 model for $19500 Canadian dollars. It is fully loaded with all options on the bike. The only thing I asked to change is the aftermarket exhaust to the stock exhaust. I saved an extra $1300. Can't wait for the spring to arrive!

As you can probably tell from my Avatar, I DO like a Ducati. But I'm thinking that they are kinda going for ridiculous prices these days. 15k for the base Scrambler-X is 3k more than the new Triumph, which is already near the top of the price list!
The Multistrada 1250 can go for 25k! And the servicing costs are eye watering!
I think i'd opt for either the Tiger 900 Rally Pro, or the Norden (the dash is probably the best out of all of the bikes featured).

I want them all😂 truthfully I think the Vstrom continues to be best all around value for money but I'd take the BMW, looking like they hit the mark!

The Moto Guzzi data you provided didn't even mention the fact it's the ONLY choice for non chain driven power in 'the smaller' category.

Brilliant, quick and informative video! You're beating Big Rock now! I would have to choose between a Tiger 900 GT PRO, the VSTROM 800 SE and the Desert X.

The table is really helpful. It will be soo much more helpful if you can create a map of their power and torque curves
