I made this last week and it was so delicious! I added a lot of lemon and fresh dill at the end. My husband got mad when he saw me cooking this dish. He said he hates chickpeas and I should have made lentil soup. But when he tried the soup he couldn't believe it. He said it is amazing that I can make something so disgusting taste good! He said it was like a nice cooked meal one would eat in a european pub. Thanks Akis! Happy cooking! Cheers!

This is the first time I've seen your videos, and LOVE the way you explain extra stuff. You don't just tell me what to do, you tell me "why" to do it, which helps me to remember it later. Well done. Can't wait to try it.

It would be cool to see more of the inner side of the pot as well, not only from the outside, so we could see the proper consistency of the food

I lived in Rhodes, Cyprus and Thessaloniki in the 50s and 60s and had this dish made pretty much the same way with very little differences. It's amazing. I love chickpeas and anything with dill and lemon. I learned to make this dish from one of the employees at the embassy in Thessaloniki who taught me how to make other Greek dishes as well. Kaló fagitó. Thank you Akis for demonstrating how to make this amazing dish.

Akis! I made this recipie already 30 times. Sprinkled with feta at the end. Used Italian olive oil. Used greek olive oil. With different types of onions. With and without blending... BUT!
It always ends up incredibly tasty warmy winter dish... it's a magic :)

Use vegetable stock instead of chicken and this becomes vegan. Perfect for Great Lent!

@Akis: Thank you so much. I grew up in Germany where my parents owned restaurants. One of their friends was Greek and had a restaurant as well, called Olympus. I grew up loving Greek food. Thank you so much for bringing traditional Greek dishes to so many. This is just awesome. Thank you!

I made this for my family today. Was absolutely delicious. I even added some swiss chard for some green. Highly recommended recipe for everyone. It is very tart and lemony, not for everyone but for me it was delicious.

We in India also cook Chikpeas. It is called 'CHOLE'. It is served with flat Indian bread called' KULCHA'. It is most popular street food in New Delhi, perhaps as iconic as 'HOT DOG' in New York.

I love that you’re speaking English now! My partner is Greek and I understand a few words (especially food) so I can generally follow along... but this is much easier thank you!!

This Revythada has become a staple in my diet. It is so rich and zesty, fresh thyme and rosemary make this dish come alive. Thank you again Akis.
