THERE IS NO WAY TO PLAY THIS GAME. i promise you, if you simply get the basics down and then just go with the flow of dayz from the moment you spawn, you will have more fun then 75% of the sweats on this game and most importantly you will learn.

I'm kinda new (50hrs) and i noticed that the toilets made from wood next to houses have best loot and almost guaranteed too

Chlorine tabs are good for long trips through the woods to high tier areas when you don’t want to be seen.

Traveling at night allows you to move through open areas more safely especially on trips to hide tier areas.
Official is great to play on.
Crafting is the second best part of survival. PvP is first for me. I love the rush I get win or lose. High stakes unlike COD n other FPS.

Great tips. I would like to add the #1 thing I share with new players I meet. Embrace the beginners mind set. DayZ is as much about new beginnings as it is about good runs. Being able to shrug off a mistake that ends a run and embracing a freshie start goes a long way, especially if you don't make it a long way. Which happens a lot as a new player. Cheers!

here is a good beginner tipp. all you need to survive is something to cut with. with something to cut with you can skin a chicken which you can catch without any gear, which gives you bones for you to make new knifes and also fishing hooks. you can also cut clothes to rags which have multiple usages themself most important one beeing, the ability to be crafted into makeshift gloves so your hands dont get bloody when you skin that chicken. with a knife you also have everything you need for a fire now. just get 2 bark from a tree combine 1 with a small stick to create a firestarterkit and the second one you combine with a stick to make a fireplace. if you now sharpen a long stick with your knife you can place the fire ignite it and put your chicken on the longstick and cook it.

Isn't that a ref to south parks, "How do you tame a horse in Minecraft?"? you punch trees. DON'T PUNTCH THINGS in DayZ, you'll start bleeding or destroy your gloves. I found this out the hard way personally and was none too happy about my discovery. I think it was a wall I punched in a panic fighting zeds; can't quite remember it's been a long time since it happened, but the result was less than preferable

I learned to play on no zombie pve servers. It gave me a really good way to learn how to craft, build, hunt, repair things. I learned how to carry what I need and how to find what I need. Once I felt confident there, I bumped up to some zombies or servers that had them dpawn in specific places. That let me practice shooting at distances, etc. Now... I'm not galf bad, I'm not great but I can hold my own! Well, against zombies, wolves, and bears. I am terrible at PvP lol

tips for beginners on official stay around olsha and airport they have nbc clothing so after a while u can get yourself a nice akm and there a small military base in the woods they spawn convoys when u reach the tower of olsha go straight right path u will se a hunting stand and than a house in the woods go straight and than ur there I have stashed boxes in very good hiding spots like in the big bush under the tower my the military base or in a mountain

I'm actually building two PVE servers.
When asked why on occasion by the very people you were referring to, I tell them flat out. I'm trying to make it so that people can learn their skills. They need to survive on any server. More the point, without getting headshot because they have a particular rifle hanging off their pack... Or whatever the person wanted.
I also take issue with doing all the leg work for someone else's benefit

I have a character in official and a character on community and vary my playtime between the 2.

my first interactiob in first play - were some dude who tried to kill me near the sea shore right after my spawn in the close vilage. I realy were empty, fighting Z with my hands, this guy bring Z with him and started to fight, killed me and died from Z. I spawned nearby and got all his loot
