Pocket check is fricken crucial - you'll have to get used to freaking out when you can't feel your car keys every couple of laps when they're deeper in your pocket than you thought they could go 🤣. Worth it for the clear headed, happy lap that comes from knowing you've got all your gear though. Nice vid TJ

This is really good stuff. Thank you. I'm 65 years old, and I'm loving snowboarding. I'm starting slow, and getting training, but I can tell you this is a blast. Thanks for the great information.

These tips are CLUTCH I'm telling y'all these tips are so good that I've picked some of them up subconsciously throughout my years just because they made sense! Pocket check really hits my soul. I lost my car keys on mountain once and it really sucks. Luckily they we’re handed in to guest services an hour after i started retracing my steps.

All absolutely critical tips most of which took me over a year or two of Snowboarding to learn by myself... this videos will be a game changer for all of you beginners out there.

And that one about digging in the heel edge when facing uphill just blee my mind.

That trick for defogging goggles - definitely going to be giving that one a shot this season. Seems like my Anon M4s fog up if you look at them the wrong way. Thanks for the solid list man, for sure going to be sending this to some friends who are getting into snowboarding this year! Great work on the vid as always!

Good list. I do most of those with the exception of 2. The beaver tail slap and digging your Heel edge in facing uphill. I'll be trying them next time I'm on the slopes. You should make a video on duck/penguin walking.

Great tips, especially the one about putting some pressure on heel or toe edge when on flat parts. Just broke my wrist on my 2nd day because I landed on it after catching an edge on a flat part

Great tips shredder. Pocket check is top of the list for me! Been snowboarding a long time and I have always pushed skate style with my back foot. Just can't make the switch to pushing on back side of board. I can push really well/fast...UNTIL I get tired, then the skate push starts to get sloppy, like I'm drunk. 🤪

Ive been snowboarding for 20 years and never thought of using the heel cup as a resting point! Thanks for the tip

Digging in your heel edge when your stopped toe side on an incline blew my mind. Thanks for the tip!

Great tips! At least two of these are new to me and I'm glad to have learned them.
Three tips I give anyone who is about to start:

1) buy butt pads, wrist guards, and spine armor. Your bones will thank you.

2) Pay for the lessons. Your friends won't have the patience. Learn from the people who get paid to be on the bunny hill with you all day if necessary. And do all three days in a row. Yes it sucks, but you're going to be glad you did.

3) spend the next two days on cat tracks. The slower speeds will help you learn to avoid edges, which you will catch, but will hurt less. And your s-turns will get better at slow speeds as well.

Great video. I’m a beginner snowboarder but I’ve been skiing for 30 years and literally never tried the goggle trick. Gotta lock that one in 👌🏻

Nice job. Been riding for 30 years. I do a lot of these subconsciously these days and forget that new riders sometimes miss the little things to make riding easier.
