Full video: "we eat the same but look different"

I honestly get frustrated when people say 1500 isn't enough since it doesn't take into account someone's height, age, sex etc. Everyone's needs are different. I am 4'11 and 143 pounds. My maintenance calories are 1529 and 1279 is mild weight-loss for me (0.5lbs a week)

If you are a small woman who is not very active 1500 calories ARE ENOUGH

Honestly though if a person is already pretty small and lives a sedentary lifestyle, then 1500 cals is probably enough to maintain their weight. If that same person was to eat over 2000 daily they could start to put on weight slowly. It all depends on what the individual person needs. But yeh don't starve yourself.

I’m pretty sedentary so my maintenance around 1500-1600 cals. If I walk a lot or am active then it goes up to 2100+ but eating 1500-1600 doesn’t starve me personally.

So tired of being made to feel like I’m starving myself or like I have an ED. Losing weight means cutting calories and some people can’t lose weight eating 1800 plus. You have to take into account how active a person is and height.

When I was a full-time server I was able to eat around 2000 calories without gaining any weight…noted that I’m 5’2” and do not have the fastest metabolism. After switching to a sedentary desk job…no matter how much I try to move around at work…I am no longer able to eat the same amount without gaining weight, and this has in fact stressed me out so much in the past couple months—I thought there was something wrong with me because for someone who lifts 5 days a week, I didn’t think eating 1500-1800 calories was normal when all the female fitness influencers are eating 2000+ calories on a daily basis. Please don’t just throw a number out there without any context. Everyone’s lifestyle and body is different.

1500 is what I need in a day… I’m 38 and don’t have time to exercise. It’s just maintenance. 1500 isn’t always bad

The girl who eats 2100 probably works out a lot and has a higher maintenance than a lot of people

There’s nothing wrong with 1500 calories. For certain heights, weights, metabolisms, and activity level, 1500 calories is the perfect amount to maintain one’s weight or enough of a calorie deficit to lose weight.

Girl I’m short, if I sat kn my ass my maintenance is barely over 1200 it’s so unfair

The great irony here is that, after watching a few of Zoe's what-I-eat-in-a-day videos, it appears she's eating about 1500 calories a day.

i do intermittent fasting and don’t count calories but I don’t consider that starving myself because i still get enough to eat for the day

OK but for a lot of people 1500 calories is absolutely fine. I’m very active now so I eat around 2000 calories but there was a time where I didn’t move all day because of school and I really didn’t need more than 1500.

I've been eating 1500-1800 cals/day to lose weight specifically. Of course, that's alongside a balanced diet with plenty of protein, high quality fats, as well as fruits and vegetables. I was battling obesity. Definitely wouldn't recommend someone to be in a calorie deficit unless it actually led to a healthier weight and after consulting their doctor.

YOU BURN FAT BEFORE MUSCLE I’m so sick of everyone saying you’ll burn muscle from eating in a small deficit, unless you are at a super low body fat percentage adipose tissue is burned, it literally is stored energy for the very purpose of being burned.

more people need to be reducing their calories in this country.

wdym starvation only gives the “image of weightloss” and that you don’t actually lose fat by starving? does eugenia cooney have the same amount of fat she used to have but she just lost some muscle and water weight??

This woman needs 2100 cuz she clearly has more muscle mass and works out. Women who are short and don't exercise much will definitely be around 1500 for their needed basic intake

As others have said, 1, 500 calories is not starvation for many adult women, especially those on the short side. It will not put you in the “starvation mode” and prime you for weight gain. I safely got to 19% body fat eating 1, 400-1, 500 calories a day, and gradually regained the weight because I didn’t care about maintaining the low weight. I was enjoying a new relationship and having more food than I needed. It took years of indulgence to get to 34% body fat, and it took a year to reduce down to 22%. Myself and my fiancé wanted to eat better, and it’s been easy to sustain this weight. Losing 24 pounds in a year is certainly not “dangerous” lol.

Edit: I’m just so happy to see some pushback against this narrative. The more misinformation we can throw away, the faster we can demystify weight loss. It’s not black and white, but it is achievable for most people—if they’re armed with good information.
