The Aussie Meat Pie..Get some grub inta ya!
Follow along along with the video...Make this pie and you'll love it!!
one large white onion
four cloves of garlic
splash of olive oil
heat oil and add 800grams minced beef
add two tbsp of worcestershire sauce
brown the mince a little
add your chopped onion and garlic
salt & pepper
two tbsp’s of tomato sauce and bbq sauce
add 2 cups of vegetable and chicken stock
1-2 tbsp of corn flour
1 tsp of tomato puree (optional)
1 tsp of vegemite (optional)
cover and simmer for 15 minutes
when the mince is ready, put to the side
let it cool down
time to make the outer part
use olive oil spray in your pie dishes
for base use shortcrust pastry sheets
for the tops use puff pastry sheets
For the topping paste
1 egg mixed with some milk..
add mixture to top part only of the base portion
be generous adding your beef
add some cheese (optional)
put top puff pastry sheet on and push
down on the edge with a fork
paste your egg and milk mixture all over the top
make sure to poke a hole in for the steam to escape
put in oven for 35 to 40 minutes at 230°
