INGREDIENTS IN THIS DISH:

2 Sheets of Frozen Shortcrust Pastry (thawed)
2 Sheets of Frozen Puff Pastry (thawed)
500g Beef Mince
1 Brown Onion (chopped)
1 Tablespoon of Oilve Oil
1 Tablespoon of Cornflour (Corn Starch)
2 Tablespoons of Worcestershire Sauce
3/4 Cup of Beef Stock
3/4 Cup of Tomato Ketchup
1 Egg (lightly beaten)
Salt and Pepper

Preparation Time: About 10 minutes
Cooking Time: About 1 hour

MAKES 4 PIES

ALL MEASUREMENTS GIVEN ARE AUSTRALIAN STANDARD METRIC

Hi there Mr. One Pot Chef...I am an aussie  who has been living in the usa now for a number of years...There have been many things I have missed about our great nation, one of them being the great aussie meat pie. Unfortunately they are next to impossible to obtain over here, so I have had to  resort to attempting to recreate my own version without much success . In saying that, I wanted to personally thank you for your recipe .I can't believe how  these pies have turned out. Just like the ones I remember back home. I have also introduced them to my American family and they cant seem to get enough of them. So once again I would like to thank you, as I will be looking forward in trying some of you're other recipe's as well...Take care....

Thank you for this video/recipe! My husband lived in AU years ago. Since moving to Canada in the 80s, he often spoke about how much he missed Aussie meat pies. I could never find a recipe until now...I am so happy to have found your video . My husband will be absolutely delighted that he finally gets his Aussie meat pies that he missed so very much . Love your videos and wonderful sense of humor. You should have your own tv cooking show!

I've made this for so many friends and family and they love it, one thing is I add 500g beef mince and 500g of cut up beef to get the chucks in it, follow the same ingredients but double (roughly) the amount of sauce etc. I also use puff pastry the whole way around instead of shortcrust, coles just don't sell any good shortcrust ;)

as an aussie living the last few years in france, this was exactly what I miss about home. Recipe turned out perfect. Also another suggestion is frying some button mushrooms before and adding them in with the broth to have a traditional beef and mushroom pie!

I confess, this is now my 'go to' mince pie recipe. I experiment a little sometimes by adding garlic; I prefer to use tomato puree instead of tomato sauce; I like a slightly thicker filling so a little less beef stock and/or more corn flour; and I use puff pastry top & bottom. A mince pie with mashed spuds and boiled green peas.... while watching New Zealand beat Australia in the rugby. Now that's what I call an ideal weekend! LOL!!!

the idea of one pot cooking applies to me also as i regularly cook in one pot as it is easier i find. i like easy way of cooking all those recipes bring back memories when i was younger cooking.so simplistic and easy.
