so for any noobs out there like me he glosses over alot of information, so what you have to do is go to Edit - preferences and in the add-ons add the Mesh tools add-on. Then select your edges like he does and press ctrl+E to open the edges menu and there you will have the offset edges menu to select wich will appear in the bottom left corner of your screen.

Thank you so much, I thought I lost my mind when the extrude tool didn't give me the result I needed. So it's offset instead I need to use! Quick and perfect video!

This is how a tutorial should be like simple and straight to the point
I'm so tiered of seeing over inflated videos that take 15 minutes to explain something like this. Thanks

Nice video, still applicable in 4.0.2

I guess Im missing something because:

You dont show how to get this menu - you can hear a click, but theres no telling what key you are pressing to open the menu.
There's nothing in documentation.
The Github doesnt exist.

Youre showing us how to use the tool.

Youre not showing or telling us the crucial step: how to access it.

Brilliant add-on. Should be a standard tool inside Blender.

In offset edges I can't chose how much I want to offset like what is seen in the video. In my case, just offsets automatically

Tradução BR [ INSTRUÇÕES ] >> BLENDER v3.6

- Vá no MENU >> EDIT >> PREFERENCES >> ADDONS;
- Adicione o complemento (Addon) >> Mesh Tools;
- Selecione suas bordas (edges, arestas) como ele faz e pressione [ Ctrl + E ] para abrir o menu de bordas;
- Selecione OFFSET EDGES >> EXTRUDE.

Let's go!

This isn't showing up into the add-on menu after attempting to install it. (Blender 4.0)

So this method sadly does not work anymore as it seems, some months ago I made a video that explain how to do it in recent blender versions, and it uses a built in add-on too
