I love it when you drop these brutally honest titles 😅

And, I love this concept! I first learned about it when I had to go through DBT. In DBT they call it "Radical Acceptance"

There's also a poem I love... I hope it's OK to post here

The Undressing
by Rumi

Learn the alchemy true human beings know
the moment you accept what troubles
you have been given, the door opens.

Welcome difficulty, as a familiar comrade.
Joke with torment, sent by the Friend.

Sorrows are old rags of clothes
and jackets that serve to cover,
and then are taken off.

This is the undressing,
and the naked body underneath
is the sweetness that comes
after grief.

There is a Brazilian book called "36 Days." It is an account by the author who survived for 36 days alone in the Amazon rainforest after his plane crashed in an uninhabited region, with the nearest civilization 400 km away. For those unfamiliar with the forest, Brazilians affectionately call it the "Green Hell." It is so dense that it is nearly impossible to walk without cutting a path, extremely humid, and incredibly hot, with a flora and fauna that are very dangerous.

Throughout the book, he constantly complains about the rain. It prevented him from sleeping and made walking very difficult. Among countless problems such as hunger, thirst, lack of shelter, and the danger of being killed by wild animals, what he complained about the most was the unbearable rain. After 36 days, having lost more than 40% of his body weight and facing numerous challenges, he finally finds a camp of castanheiros, families who go deep into the forest to make a living by harvesting Brazil nuts.

After a few hours and having contacted his relatives, he talks to the mother of this family of castanheiros. She tells him, "You are very lucky." He responds, "Lucky? Why?" She explains, "We weren't supposed to be here. We moved to this area because the place we were at a few days ago flooded due to all the rain, and we had to relocate to continue our harvesting."

The summary of the story is that the thing he hated the most during those 36 days, and would have given anything to stop, was what ultimately saved his life.

Be grateful for everything, even the problems, because they might be the ones to transform your life and help you grow.

"I step onto my misfortune, and as a result I stand taller" Absolute goosebumps. That's the most empowering quote I've ever heard

"This is exactly as it should be because it took the entire universe to come up with this moment. When you struggle against this moment, you struggle against the entire universe" Ever since I heard that quote my life has changed.

Listening to you talk reminded me of this verse

"But perhaps you hate a thing, and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing, and it is bad for you. And Allah knows, while you know not." (Quran 2:216)

Sometimes, we may resist or dislike certain situations, responsibilities, or decisions because they are challenging or uncomfortable. However, these experiences may lead to personal growth, spiritual development, or protection from greater harm. For instance, someone might dislike a particular job or responsibility, but that very role might provide the stability, experience, or opportunities needed for future success.
Conversely, we might be attracted to things or people that seem desirable or enjoyable but ultimately lead to negative consequences. This could be in the form of unhealthy relationships, materialistic pursuits, or habits that seem pleasurable but are detrimental to our well-being or spiritual state.

It reminds us to have faith in the greater plan and to seek guidance and patience, knowing that our understanding of what is truly good or bad for us is limited.

"Surrender is strength not an act of weakness".

This is message so important, so simple yet so hard to understand and to live fully.

IMHO this is your most profound teaching yet.

You are a natural sage.

I experienced a magical response to detachment/surrender in the Paris airport. I was in a massive barely moving customs line between flights with 1.5 hours until boarding cutoff and realized after the first hour of stressful waiting and not even half way through the line, I would be missing my flight. I said, “Oh well! Maybe I’ll be meeting my future husband in the airport food court.” Then a staff came and opened the ropes directly in front of me and directed me to the business class agent with no line!!! It was so distinct and cool (I made my flight - universe said “no husband for you, bish”)

"We waste moment by moment the only moment that we have." Brilliant video and talk. Thank you!

This video argues that our constant struggle to attain desires and avoid unwanted things is mostly self-inflicted and can be stopped immediately by changing our perspective. Drawing on insights from Meister Eckhart and Seneca, it suggests that suffering stems from our attachment to external things. By accepting and even embracing what happens to us as part of a greater will—whether you call it God, the universe, or life—we can stop fighting and start living fully in the present. This approach aligns with teachings from various religious and philosophical traditions, emphasizing that true strength lies in surrender and adaptability.

Too often we are hiding behind busyness as an escape from something we're been avoiding. Distractions may bring us temporary sense of satisfaction but distractions can never compensate for the emptiness in our soul. You educate us, you inspire us to slow down to realize that life is too precious to just allow it to pass us by, to understand whatever we focus on is deciding our future.
Good luck with everything! Whatever vision you have for the future we are here supporting You!

I always tell myself that it is YOU who saves yourself from your own misery. Surrendering requires a form of solitude, because of course surrendering involves vulnerability. Amazing video!

I watched some of your videos this morning before I went to the dentist as I knew I has 3 fillings ahead of me . I needed some wise words to calm me down and funnily enough I surrendered my imense fear as soon as I sat in the dentist chair. I realised there was no point being scared as it was beyond my control so I trusted that man who spent years studying people's mouths and I felt great !! I totally relaxed and surrendered to the situation so it's ironic that I identified with your talk about surrendering in this video. Sometimes it's all you can do. .Thank you 🙂🌷

Beautifully explained! Basically, ' Amor Fati'...the love of one's fate, accepting and embracing everything that happens in one's life, including suffering and loss as good or at the very least necessary.
I found this teaching after losing my 22 year old son 4 years ago. In Many ways it saved my life. Since that time I have experienced even more "loss" and find it doesn't always get easier to do. You would think any suffering compared to my sons passing would be significantly easier to apply this teaching to my life, but that isn't always the case. Attachments come in all forms and even seemingly mundane ones have deep roots in our identity and ego. Im finding in my own life, this is a PRACTICE... and surrendering sometimes takes time and alot of self love. ❤
