I didn't know you couldn't use tweezers to remove the sting, very helpful information! My cats sit on the balcony a lot and we have random visitors, bees and wasps and one time a hornet (!) so I keep an eye out if they catch anything. Also, if you have a problem of having a sting-type insects coming from time to time hang fresh garlic around. What you do is buy a few heads and cut them here and there so they produce smell. Set them in corners, around the porch etc. You won't smell it yourself unless you get close, doesn't damage the health of your pet and really works! Ever since I hung those, the very few visitors we had didn't fly into the balcony, just hovered in front, out of cat's reach and went away.

my little Yorkie was out walking on the lawn. she whimpered and collapsed. she was still breathing. a quick call to my vet and they had me giving her 1/2 of a benadryl every 30 minutes until she was conscious. turned out to be the worst 4 hours ever!!!!

My husky just bit down on a honey bee that was on our plant outside. He immediately reacted by jumping and pawing at his mouth non stop. After 20 minutes or so I noticed swelling on the right side of his mouth. I took him to the vet and he was given a steroid and pain med. I was told to give him benadryl as well. The vet also kept him for 2 hours to watch him and make sure he was OK and in hopes of removing the stinger. I had no idea the seriousness of this but it is the location.

My dog stepped on a bee hidden in the grass tonight 😔 He was screaming for a bit while I looked for the stinger.. couldn't find it. We washed his feet off and he calmed down. Thought we might need to go to the vet but he ended up ok after and hour or so.

My parents never take our dog to the vet, even when he gets hurt. They never have time to do it.... they’re always to busy with work. Is this bad?
