Everyone knows this feeling. When your time with a special person comes to an end. It's not that you won't see them again, it's just the sad feeling that they're gone for a minute and you'll miss them. It can be a friend, significant other, or family member. It's just a feeling everyone has gone through and it's really powerfully done here because there aren't words to describe it. Great acting.

03:04 you can almost see that tom cruise's character is disturbed at the thought of raymond leaving without saying a proper goodbye. Lets you see and understand how someone like what tom cruise portrayed in the movie got touched by raymond. Tom cruise is a brilliant actor no doubt.

at the end there is someone who loves Charlie Babbitt. Charlie Babbitt feels loved by his brother and has someone to deposit everything his father denied him. It is a beautiful and very humane ending.

It's a bittersweet ending since Charlie now knows that he has a brother and family but Raymond lives in a world that he cannot enter.

The tiny catch in Charlie's voice when he says "I will see you soon" says it all.

Aww when Ray says “one for bad, two for good” is such a good way of showing their time together’s impact as Ray learned that from blackjack but also how Charlie has changed into a better man

I like the way he is alone in the end but happy and selfless while in the opening he was surrounded by people and was unhappy and selfish

The Hans Zimmer piece for this scene was spot on. Great soundtrack overall.

While i appreciate his dedication to his job, i think cruise playing in blockbusters for the last 20 years or so was a waste. He was capable of way more. Excellent movie. And hoffman absolutely nailed this famous role.

I have a mild form of autism and I reed allot of books and soak up the information like a sponge. I noticed Rain Man kept spelling his bothers name Charlie out over and over I think that was Rain Mans way of telling his brother he loved him.

Hoffman was with Kim Peek for a single day. He absorbed enough to make a believable character in less than 14 hours. Respect to all, actors and their inspiration.

They just don’t make movies like this anymore . Phenomenal acting by both Cruise and Hoffmann.

When train starts to moving, drums start to playing, goosebumps are ready. Tom is staying and looking to train in synchronisation with flute melody. Truly touching.

Powerful scene! My older brother has autism as well. I think that we who have siblings with autism connect and relate to this film with powerful emotion! Savants and autistic people have a major impact on our lives. It is so great that we can’t see life without them. They are literally the heart and soul of our families! I wouldn’t give my brother for the world! ❤️

Originally Tom Cruise was suppose to play Raymond and Dustin Hoffman was going to be Charlie. But, Dustin Hoffman read the script and insisted on being Raymond. It's hard to imagine this movie any other way.
