MUST check out part 1 if you haven't:

=========

SPOILERS in description below:

0:00 "The Car disturbs him"
the commanding tone is annoying for sure. Susanna did wait for days before, that is not cool... However, park the car elsewhere is a smart move to drop other's guard down (Don't feel bad Vern, that fooled me too)...

========
0:48 The duck.
Charlie does say it all about the possible interpretation of "I don't know"

The calendar and sport thing is factual. Some real live savants do memorize data very well.

I heard autistic people enjoy perceiving repetitive things.

Such an awesome scene. And the music at the end when they are walking together... Perfect!

This was Hans Zimmer's first music score for a motion picture and he killed it.

I bought a 1951 Buick(4-door sedan) about 6 months before this film came out, so I was stoked to see the Buick, Fireball 8, straight-8, Dynaflow transmission (also mocked as "Dynaslush" because of its very mooshy shift characteristics) in this film. AND about 2 years after this same car was exhibited at the Stonestown Mall near where I lived in San Francisco, and I was excited beyond belief. This movie has great music as well.

0:58 My favorite early line in the film. This could apply to many real people in everyday life!

Charlie had a right to know he had a brother, the father was wrong to not tell him.

I get into "I don't know" mode whenever I'm majorly depressed, kinda like right now.

2:19 I can feel how many emotions of adventure brings this scene with the background music.

Tom Cruise was brilliant. Much better than Hoffmann. Cruise had the tougher part as he was the straight guy in this one. The music & the scenery were just perfect as well. Valeria has never been better since.

Can see why this was the best film of 1988. Die Hard was a close second. Above The Law rounded off the top three.

I would have taken Raymond too. Who would pass up an opportunity to take a road trip with your brother that you just met and know nothing about. Sounds like a good time

Did Dustin Hoffman get an Oscar for his interpretation? He should have had.

I always hold dear that Fernando Valenzuela is the reason Rainman got up for the chance to see him pitch, he was a Ticket Magnet, may he Rest in Peace 💙⚾️

He will not understand the concept of death, and the things that we understand.

Was not expecting the Donkey Kong music.

Fernando Valenzuela and Orel Hershiser were the Top dog Pitchers for the Dodgers back then.

I wonder how they found this location in Kentucky for the setting of Wallbrook. I read that this place was actually some sort of convent or retreat house. Looks authentic as an asylum though.
