Did walking get me shredded? Was that the only thing I did? No. Here's the truth and the steps you need to take if you want to get lean.

About the video:
Based on my last video, where I talked about walking for fat loss and how walking got me lean, many people didn't realize that walking is just one element if your goal is to get shredded. Walking more can definitely help you create a calorie deficit and sustain it easier but you have dial-in other elements in your plan if your goal is to get shredded and reach 10% body fat.

In this video, I share all the steps you need to take to get shredded and combine walking to get the best results on your fitness journey. It covers nutrition, training, lifestyle, and the truth about getting shredded. I hope this video will help you reach a goal physique that you'll be happy with.

Very inspiring, Mario. My only brother died at age 57 in 2017 & I immediately went into weight loss mode. Went from 189 to 151 in three months -- walking like crazy & fasting. Ever since, it's all about maintaining, not gaining. The dialogue in this You Tube installment is hitting on all the points I need to be hearing. Cheers!!

Walking keeps me from eating. Laying around watching TV, playing on the computer and just relaxing is just so easy for me to snack on crap. Taking a walk, even a 10 min. around the block walk quells that. The other thing is that walking, exercising, lifting and just being active triggers a whole different hunger...I want carrots, not carrot cake.

Eating at a deficit is 1000% easier when you’re eating unprocessed whole food! Obviously if you’re eating burgers, French fries, and pizza then it’s going to feel impossible.

100% agree agree agree. What got me in shape is 3 things - eating only whole food diet (no processed food, no alcohol), healthy caloric restriction, resistance and movement exercise regimen. Walking is a major pillar for fat loss. Getting in shape is a marathon it takes a long time, there are no 'hacks' there are no secret shortcuts. This cured my sleep apnea, skin issues and improved my eyesight!! It's so worth the discipline.

Better sleep, better nutrition, walk until you are near your ideal body weight then start doing push ups. Once you are strong do pull-ups.

Walking is an awesome exercise! It is so overlooked as a way to get in shape and improve your mindset. I've written several books on walking and your advice is right on the money!

I always do 20-30mins of Incline walk as a warm up before I start to gym. It's what I've enjoyed doing, breaking a sweat and calories without the risk of being too fatigued to start lifting. I do light cardio almost every session and I can immediately see results in my clothes

I ate above my maintenance calories when I started working out again last month and was walking every other day for 90 min. This last Sunday was my 30 day mark and I have lost 10lbs of fat and gained 10 lbs of muscle. The walking took fat off EVERYWHERE. I'm 6'2 185. I had not worked out in several years. I know the 10lbs of muscle was muscle memory and that the muscle gains will start slowing down

Walking is also so much easier on your joints. I see so many people running daily on concrete, and it’s honestly just so damaging on your joints/ hips. Swimming/walking are a far more sustainable form of cardio imo

Walking helps you to put you in a caloric deficit. That's it. Walking is a simple low impact exercise that can be repeated easily. After a while eating less is not an option. No one likes being hungry. Simple 40 minute walk can add 200 calories to you daily caloric requirements that will held with hunger. If you want to eat more, workout more. Caloric deficit should be ~400-500 daily. It is a very simple equation that is also very difficult to follow. Eat more but burn more also.

Walk more, eat less. Eat right. Actually makes sense.

over the course of 6 months, I was on a Keto diet and walked 5-10km/day, with no resistance training and no HIIT (which I have recently added because it stimulates human growth hormone). I lost 20 kilos, of which 17kg were fat, and 3kg were muscle. My body fat is now about 22% and my BMI is around 26. Still have some way to go, especially since belly fat is always going to be the last thing to go. Of course body builders, by definition, have the most muscles, including their abs, but just walking + keto + HIIT seems like it is going to allow me to continue to lose fat while maintaining muscle.
