One of my fears of dedicating myself to the gym to get a physique like yours was that I was worried it wouldn't change who I was inside. That I would still be timid, shy, anti social, socially anxious, can't look women in the eyes, etc... I'm a 26 year old virgin.
But even the small improvements I had done recently this past month, losing weight, taking care of my hair, clothes, hygiene, etc... astronomically changed how others saw me especially women... bro girls smile at me when we lock eyes now wtf, usually they would look away instantly or keep a bored face, and I didn't even change much yet, and that as a consequence changed how I saw myself, which was then reflected outside, which was reflected back inside and so on and so forth like a positive feedback loop. The opposite of it was what happened with me as a kid. (warning: boring childhood rant incoming)

I grew up a neglected autistic kid. I had terrible hygiene as a child because I didn't know what to do about it and kids hated me for it. I also looked and dressed like a middle aged man in the body of a child and cut my hair once every school semester. My father was a pragmatic academic sort of person who didn't care about how he looked much either and had the same look for at least the last 30 years of his life, so he didn't care about mine either. My mother was simply too preoccupied with younger siblings (when I was 7 I already had 3 younger siblings, arab families amirite?) I always had to wash my own clothes, iron them, make breakfast for myself every school morning, etc.. and she liked that I was so 'independent' because it was a weight off her shoulders but I think it damaged me deeply because I had to figure everything for myself and as an autist I figured everything badly. My wardrobe made me look like a clown and I was chubby because I cooked burgers and sausages for breakfast everyday and packed them for lunch too because that was as far as my cooking skills went.

I don't know how this turned into a rant about my childhood but the point I was trying to make was that that lifestyle that made people see me a certain way and therefore had me reflect that view internally was being carried over to my adulthood when it had no right to. I understand now the importance of making an effort to look decent, to the best of your ability, because naturally it changes how people see and interact with you, and as a result how you think of yourself. I try to remind myself everyday that my childhood wounds should not define my adulthood. I am not that weird clueless smelly fat child that people bully anymore, as hard as that can be sometimes. I have the opportunity to overwrite and rewrite the story I tell myself about who I was and who I am.

Sorry for the article, but gym, here I come...

Great job on all your hard work. It's amazing how much you value your self when you get in shape. You also view women different. The ones who you thought where out of their league are the same ones you question if they are even worth dating.

I appreciate your video trying to help youngsters. I think so too, most of the people are not confident enough with themselves and yet never work on themselves. Just start working and you'll feel so good just in the beginning without even seeing changes, atleast you are working on it rather than procrastinating.

Happy for you my dude. I was in the same boat for years. Tall skinny not much muscle. But these past 5 months the transformation of my body is amazing and it's because I give 6 days a week 3 plus hours a day. No excuses I eat pretty good for sure. And the thing is I know it's just going to get even better. I love where I'm at now and am so motivated to see how it far it will go. Happy 2024

I am fat and out of shape.
I can do maybe 2 pullups and 15-20 pushups tops right now.
I want to be able to be able to complete 50 pullups and 100 pushups in 5 minutes or less by December 31st.
I will train calisthenics 6 times per week and eat in a calorie deficit.
I will hit my goals.
