This theory is actually false since there were multiple episodes where ancient ancestors of Patrick, SpongeBob, Squidward, and Mr.Krabs appear along with Prehistoric sea animals such as the Ammonites appearing in the background .

There is another episode where SpongeBob goes into the Krusty Krab’s Lost and found and finds prehistoric marine reptiles. (Tanystropheus and Tylosaurus)

theory I had: I do not think the bikini bottom characters were formed by nuclear explosions. If you look at feral friends a green moon appears and then on half of the show the narrator or a diff person saying a very intresting line: "I have monitoring the behaviour of the green moon in bikini bottom. It is called neptunes moon. Every 100 years it de evolves everyone in bikini bottom into primal fish". So I think it was formed by the green moon and something that will blow your mind: KING NEPTUNE IS USING THIS MOON TO MAKE ALL BIKINI BOTTOM CHARACTERS INTO EVOLVED FISH.
