IPS stands for in-plane switching while VA stands for vertical alignment. The monitor on the left is the Acer XV270P (IPS) while the monitor on the right is Cooler Master GA271 (VA). Which one do you prefer? Drop your comments down below!

something is wrong if your IPS panel has darker black than the VA.

you need use nvidia color setting on both, cause something wrong on VA panel on the right site, the black level weird, i have va and ips monitor, the contrast on black scene VA better and has more picture detail on dark scene

I personally like the colour from IPS (left monitor) better in above comparison.

Thanks for the compare, Just make decide on which monitor to buy. Probbably go cooler master for 2k(future proof)

in monitor settings.. theres Dark level auto, full range and mid range.

It is true, left looks better for me, right is set too bright (which can be adjusted from settings). VAs have better contrast ratio usually, and should be the one with deeper colors than IPS, so something is amiss here. The 1440p set to 1080p does create smudgy graphics too...

I'll watch more videos, not convinced. I was convinced 3000:1 contrast ratio which usually VAs have, give better colors than the usual IPS 1000:1 in the same price range

IPS has better colour gamut, but not that big diference

IPS has better colors but the VA is definitely higher quality
