That was bad but there should’ve been road paintings as well to indicate the lane was ending. There usually are. He should’ve stayed behind the car in front and merged with him.

Merging on highways for me is easiest when you’re behind someone I guess

In uk we have merge lane that turn into a running lane. And look exactly like that one. If it ends further up the paint on the road is shorter lines to let you know it ends. There’s usually a sign aswell

Just took my road test in NY USA. We aren't tested on the freeways here during the road test. Guess I will have to learn this driving skill later on.

I don’t even have my license yet but I have a good feeling driver w/ cam was in the wrong. It seemed like he was trying to overtake the blue vehicle in front of him on the right shoulder, going over the painted line instead of just merging after at a reduced speed of traffic

there was so much time. look at the car ahead of you and once you see the dotted line, make sure you're clear, it's safe, signal and merge

August 2023, still happening in all merging lane, FSD doesn't seem to recognize the sign and be prepare for it
