Trillion dollar company loses to Billion dollar company. Even with all their resources, Microsoft can't compete with the juggernaut of the high end console market, Sony. Thank god Nintendo is in there doing their thing with Switch.

They dont need to make powerful consoles when they own the windows operating system. They will however focus more on portable xbox which integrates more with with windows and cloud while also being a full console platform for day one AAA releases. That carves out a very distinct market segment. I don't really understand the portal however, just use an android device and sync your controller with bluetooth.

Xbox shouldn't give up. We as gamers need them to make Playstation try harder and make greater games. Without the box Playstation will rule which isn't good. We need the box with that Playstation will strive to make greater games. Better performance and optimization in games. Competition is everything. I'm not an Xbox fan at all. Playstation all the way from day one. But without Competition we all lose

It’s obvious that the live service push for PS has potentially killed all the hype this generation. I truly think they’re scrambling to get first party titles out right now and that’s why we keep getting all these ridiculous unnecessary remakes like until Dawn.

Damn I'd love if some other older trilogies from the PS3 era got remasters or outright remakes. If they are truly running out of ideas then revisting older titles wouldn't be a bad idea if they were top tier franchises like Killzone 1, 2 & 3, Resistance 1, 2 & 3, Infamous 1, 2 & Festival of Blood, Sly Trilogy among others would be amazing to play in higher fidelity graphics and textures, 4K res and 60 FPS.

It was always going to go this way. The 360 is the equivalent to the Battle of Ia Drang for Microsoft. It was a huge battle in Vietnam before the US officially entered and took the reigns of that conflict. They won that battle and thought the rest would be a walk. But it wasn't. In the end, the US was pushed out. The only difference was the amount of damage and lives lost before that end was reached.

Toxic discourse, micro transactions, paid DLC, mandates against attractive women, extremist DEI programs increasing the activist population instead of removing it. Extreme consolidation, lowering the quality of games overall with gamepass (filled with shovel ware) or the series S console bottlenecking the entire industry. Stealing games from gamers and putting them behind multiple pay walls.

Very little of actual value was brought into the industry from Microsoft relative to the damage it's done, wasting billions in the attempt.

Good riddance. Everyone would be a LOT better off if they pulled out decades ago.

Someone else would've stepped in, maybe Sega, maybe Atari, maybe Panasonic even. Someone with a legit interest and care for the industry.

Not one who doesn't care if they kill the industry, as long as they get all the valuables out of the burning building before it comes down.

If you’re surprised by the Portal it’s only because you haven’t tried it. If you are somewhere without wi-fi, your phone or don’t have hotspot it’s doubtful you’d be gaming you should be engrossed in whatever activity it is you are doing not gaming. People don’t even go outside anymore let alone go anywhere there’s no Wi-Fi.

Bought the portal a couple months back. It was a well spent $200. It allows me to play my games and my fiancé to watch tv in the same room.
