Honestly I think the push for marginally better graphics has made gaming so inaccessible. It's absurd how powerful of a machine and how much space you need to play certain games. Call me old-fashioned but I loved going to the store to get a new game and being able to play it immediately when I got home

As an older gamer the death of physical hits me right in the nostalgia. No more going round your mates and flicking through their shelves of games 😢

An Xbox is only worth it if you wanna save some bucks from getting a gaming laptop or PC which can play essentially the same games. Xbox Game Pass is a huge bonus thou!

As someone with a PC, I have an Xbox just for Backwards Compatibility

The thing that made me stay away from consoles entirely was paying to play online. I can play the same game on my PC without paying some sort of subscription just to play online.

I'm so sick of this "console war" like just enjoy what you want if you dislike a console or a company cool more money and power to you but you don't need to be a toxic douche and spread your hate and attack other users this goes for all platforms Nintendo Xbox playstation even PC (who I personally think is really bad with this but that's just me) but like what you like you like a Xbox cool you like Nintendo or PlayStation cool but you don't need to spread hate around I'm just so tired of this monarchy where graphics and frames are the only things that matter

Gamers introduced to online gaming in the seventh gen hold a fun memory of the 360. A bygone era

Only issue for me is pc literally has everything. Xbox is only worth it if you can’t afford a pc.

It’s worth it perhaps for folks like me with hundreds of original XBox, 360 and Xbox One games on disc.

This is not the console wars anymore this is the microtransactions war.

If Xbox has a game you want that PS5 doesn’t, get a Xbox, and vice versa for PS5, or get a PC so you have a computer to use and have sales on games or a Steam deck for something really cheap. There’s no need for people to get angry at each other, there’s benefits in all camps; if there weren’t benefits, it wouldn’t exist

I got my first Xbox, the One S as a gift in January 2019 and been using Xbox as my primary since. Game Pass is a neat bonus, but not the reason I stuck with it.
The consoles are quick, quiet and the ability to play your stuff everywhere is amazing. The free automatic cloud save between everything is incredible.
And with xCloud and Remote Play I play anywhere I go without any issues. My internet connection is very stable which allows Remote Play to work just fine.

Controllers with replaceable batteries is the best thing you can do. I don't know why people are so against it

Theres one thing that I still think is a huge benefit when it comes to consoles.. well two actually. One being the lack of multiple launchers for maybe one or two games that I like, and two the avoidance of sensitive data being harvested which your PC is bound to house more private data than your console. Many games TOS/EULAs say they will monitor you before and after you play their game, out-of-game-monitoring is sketchy AF and needs to be abolished but no one seems to care which is baffling, at least on console they will get very little data.

Honestly I was (and still to a point) am against all digital since at any time that data can be removed and you no longer have access to it, however, with 90% of the data needed to run physical media is digital it really doesn't matter if you have the physical media or not. You still can't run in w/o a large download.

I'm happy with my Xbox and Gamepass. The only game I covet is Helldivers 2. Mainly because I want to play it with my friends.
I could buy it on Steam, but I want to play it on my Tv while sat on my sofa. What can I say, I'm a comfort gamer.
(I'd say the same if i had a Playstation).

aa batteries are a plus thanks to the prevalence of rechargable ones available. I'll take that anyday vs having to take my controller apart to replace a dying battery pack.

Getting rid of physical disk drive is A HUGE Especially for us who lives in the second world countries.. bcoz believe it or NOT.. internet highspeed data transfer and some really HUGE hundreds of GIGABYTES data of the game would prolly cost more than a physical disk itself..

i dont think xbox is going away but I think they are preparing to move away from the idea of console first. meaning its going to be games everywhere first and consoles are going to be secondary. I think xbox sees sony not as a rival but a place where a lot of money can be made and a place where they are missing opportunity because xbox releases on pc day and date. sony does not they make pc gamers wait for the pc port and make them wait a long while. I think xbox is moving away from xbox as a hub for games and want to hit every angle they can and i think the fact sea of thieves and hi fi rush did well on PS is going to make them consider is it worth continuing the way we were doing because if they dont have to focus on their console it will be easier to get releases out.
