Have you been thinking about what is the best position to give birth to your baby ?
Read on!
It is a common misconception that you need to give birth in traditional positions like Lithotomy and Reclining .
These positions do not take advantage of gravity and also put pressure on your pelvis, hence not allowing your sacrum to move.
Positions like Side lying, All 4s, Squatting and Kneeling take advantage of gravity helping baby to descent. They also keep the pelvic outlet open allowing the perineum to stretch effectively - hence reducing changes of needing a episiotomy or tearing.
