VMWare Workstation settings for the best performance

I do a lot of work on VMWare virtual machines and with some trials and errors I found the best performance settings which work for me and I would like to share them.

Nice work. I guess I'm too lazy and/or not imaginative enough to do the work you did. I followed your advice, 2 CPUs and 3 cores each - the guests almost feel like native hardware now. Sweet. I would never have thought to use an odd number for cores, I would have used 2, 4, 6, or 8, and skipped right over the 3.

Great video. Is this recommened approach also if you have multiple VM's on workstation? I believe your scenario is if you only have 1 VM right? What if you have 4 VM's on a HOST which has (1 socket, 16 cores, 24 logical processors) is 2x3 still the most optimal?
