How To Replace Fuel Line on 2-Stroke/2-Cycle Engines (Weed Eater, Chainsaw, Hedge Trimmer, Blower)

In this video you will learn how to change fuel lines on a weed eater, blower, hedge trimmer, chainsaw and other equipment powered by two cycle/two stroke engines. A broken or dry rotted fuel line or primer bulb is a very common problem. Replacing fuel lines is a very simple project.
I will walk you through the step by step process of changing the fuel lines. If for some reason you should get the fuel lines crossed... no harm done... just switch the lines at the carburetor and you will be fine.

I have a 2008 troy-bilt 575ss, was running great 'till would turn off like running out of fuel and had to prime it to start, never changed the fuel lines, trying to look in the net if anybody was having problems like mine, so just by chance I bent a little bit my intake fuel line and found a substantial leak, very happy to have found it and thank you for showing how to change it.

Thank you very much! My weed eater wasn't working anymore after 4 years of inactiveness. But after watching your vid, I was able to solve the problem! I owe you one, if you visit Belgium once ;)

Excellent presentation, thank you! Question; who's the other voice in the background that sounds like a computer-generated voice?

very helpful. I have two weedeaters and they BOTH started leaking fuel at the same time!! crazy. thanks for all your suggestions, but WHO is that talking over your shoulder with a British accent????

You connected the fuel line to a black connector that is connected to a line that’s connected to the carburetor line. I found a black two end connector at the bottom of my fuel tank( Craftsman 25cc b2000 2cycle) and was trying to figure out where it came from. Now I see where it goes. My blower is I’ll not prime

Can the line also be too close to the bottom of the tank?

It would appear to me that the cheap Chinese carburetor kits I purchase always order only come with whatever hose size they bother to give me

I do appreciate everything you showed, but unfortunately I had to replace both lines and was already broken off at the carb and primer . I'm not sure which connection is correct.

I tried to change a line recently and it was difficult to pull through the hole and to replace the new one too; so I cut the old one and I drilled the hole a little bigger, and I will put some epoxy on it to stop leaks. When the line is pulled through the small hole it seems to me that it will choke it and stop the gas from passing.

So one line should be short and one line should be long? The lines that i installed are both going to the bottom. My engine wont start.

I bought the retune line hose because the fuel line looks good it was 1/8 and the hole was to small I think I need the 3/16 line smaller hose

Can a frayed return pipe cause a strimmer to cut out?

Hi. Please can you tell me why you have you got a connector in the line instead of just using a single line?
