I got custody almost the same way. The mom only showed up to court once, refused to do any drug testing, and on the final court date she was in jail for DUI evading and resisting. The upside is I have a healthy child, no child support payments, and every day is a blessing.

So terribly sad. She last smoked pot last week, she smoked it last night. She doesn’t take anything except heart medication, she just took Klonopin. She doesn’t wear contacts or glasses, but has double vision and asks to get her glasses. She contradicts herself, is all over the place and has no self-awareness. This breaks my heart.

Its hard to see a mother like this when she's about to pick up her kid. Props to the cop for actually asking questions like, have you been injured, what all have you taken, really taking his due diligence with trying to figure out what's going on. Because although she was, y'know, trashed, sometimes it's a health issue, and it doesn't help anyone to just bring that person to jail.

The dad told the cop that he has custody and he was bringing her for her moms visit. This isn’t sad, this is criminal. Please dad, keep your daughter away from this train wreck of a so called mother. “I’m not messed up, I’m just scared.” What a crock of crap. She talks about all her physical problems when the fact is she’s high and out of control. This is ridiculous

My heart really goes out to the child, and the dog, two completely innocent victims caught up in her bad choices. Her daughter won't forget this. I'm 60y.o., and I remember being a little kid in a very similar situation. Your children know/remember more than you realize. Make good decisions people.
