"Thanks for coming to the interview"
*throws out the resume*

I think this question is better to be asked when seeking senior roles not entry jobs. For senior leaders, this can show initiative and leadership spirit but I don't think new grads should ask this question for their entry career

I love this question. If I had to answer it would to something like this: “They may tell you I’m an idiot sometimes, and they’re right. They’ll also tell you it’s safe to tell me that. They’ll tell you I’m open and thorough, and that I’ve never once left them out on their own in tough situations. They don’t have to talk to clients without backup, and they’ll always have my ear when they need it. They’ll also say I value real life over work, including their lives.”

Sometimes meeting the boss or team leader is an important way to identify if they are compatible or could become unsupportive and hostile.

This question can be perceived as combative in almost all cases. It depends upon the tone in which you ask.

It would beneficial if you could get a walk thru the area you'd be working at. At the employees upbeat or do they have their heads down.

Sadly Most are looking for people to satisfy their ego not talent .. as soon as the boss reads toxic I leave !

I always interview the boss - two way street, looking for compatibility.

Except no job I've ever applied to has ever let me ask any questions. They do all the talking and then make their verdict.

Are companies still hiring...? I feel like nobody is hiring; they're just posting jobs to look nice...

I think this question will get you refused because you will sound like a rebel smart worker they don't want worker who question the boss

I guarantee you that in 95% of the cases the hiring manager will dodge the question and or fumbles.

.... You have you answer. Verdict: not selfaware

You will also not make it through the cut, as you did not stroke his/her majesty's ego
