India's education system is not something Indians are proud of. Student suicide rates are some of the highest in the world (28 suicides a day), exams are over competitive and you really need to be lucky to be selected for admission any institute, let alone IIT. Outcomes are really poor too, students barely have a basic understanding of their subject, high school students are functionally illiterate. The entire system is a oppressive Darwinian petri dish of survival of the fittest. Calling it competitive is not the word I would use to describe it.

Fun fact: Satya Nadella is not from IIT, he came from Manipal Institute of Technology, a private University.

found it a bit funny. People who dont manage to get into IIT get into Harvards and Stanfords relatively easily.. Presenter seems to brand it the other way around..

Great video! Now let’s finally learn how to pronounce some of these Indian names properly. Sad being the CEO of Google and having your name mispronounced. Just like we Americans have learned to pronounce pho “fuh” and not “pho” when we order at a Vietnamese restaurant.

Sundar is not sundaaaahr… it’s “Suhnther” with a soft “th” not hard.

Satya is not Sahtyaah… it’s “Suthyuh” with a harder “th” than with Sundar.

I think the real question is why are these American companies allowing this when there’s more than enough qualified Americans to become CEOs

Indian labour mindset still prevails, they just want to be servant not owner 😊.
We pride being servants

🙏🙏Religion and Dharma are two different things. Dharma is not a religious concept. Dharma is a knowledge based system. We are a society of seekers. Which makes us the greatest Civilisation ever known.

I am happy to know many indians become CEOs of american companies but most of those are in tech firms. I hope you are able to rise in power in many other industries as well. Otherwise some people might think you are good at computer or maths only.

They aren't inherent leaders, which makes them easy to control. Sundar Pichai and Neal Mohan are great examples of this. They get their orders and follow them, causing them to be hated while the puppet masters can do as they wish while their Ceos soak up the hate

There is a huge difference between "Born in India" and "Made in India". My two cents to this video is they are "Born in India" (which tbh doesn't matter coz it wasn't your choice) but they are "Made in US" since they studied, worked super hard and built connections in the US after staying here for decades. So connecting India with CEO-ship is a simple statistical correlation and its emphasis I think is a complete mis-direction, and quite frankly an insult of their sheer hard work.

Although I am happy for them I don't like that the brains that could have helped India pushed forward its economy and infrastructure is helping foreign nation rather than trying to become exporter of brains like European nations we became importer that's very bad deal

Chinese on H1b think of this a lot, and we’d like to think it’s because in addition to being good they ruthlessly support each other.

Many of these are just descendants of civil servants trained by the British. Also, many if the Gujaratis and Jains support the fascist govt.in India.
