Why So Many CEOs are from India

What’s the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear the word “India”?
My guess is yoga, curry, Taj Mahal, Bollywood, Cricket, and for those who know their history, Mahatma Gandhi.
Well, you’d be absolutely right to have thought about any (or indeed all) of these interesting things.
But besides all the great things that India is known for, there is a trend that is fast being associated with the world’s second-most populous country; world-beating CEOs
In case you haven’t noticed, the CEO of multiple Fortune 500 Companies and some of the world’s biggest tech companies are all Indians.
Yes indeed!
A quick Google search will reveal a mile-long list(I might have exaggerated a bit) of CEOs of multinational companies who are all of Indian descent.
I do not think this is a coincidence or a stroke of luck.
There have to be reasons why so many global corporations are being led by Indians.
Surprised?
Then join me as I unravel 6 reasons why so many CEOs are from India.

Strong Parents, family values with loyalty and no divorce, 5000 year old culture, blessings of our ancestors and most importantly working hard to earn what we deserve are the reasons for the success of Indians across the globe. Humility and kindness are embedded in Indian culture, wish the Netflix generation of India understands the importance of all of the above and not forget our roots

I’m an Indian working in software field for a long time in US. We are indeed good workers but less of original thinkers. The ones who are CEOs from India mostly are original thinkers. I would say an American is good at original thinking and brave to step forward. Indian think 1000 times before making a step. That’s part of the culture. As an Indian I would ask my country men to learn from American. The spirit of entrepreneurship. The can do attitude. Celebrate failure but learn.

Another reason is, unlike the Chinese who always have a hidden love for their motherland, the Indians remain faithful to the company and to the US constitution. No stealing of company secrets too, I may add.

Agreed! Indian culture helps the kids learn STEM at such a young age. Their parents sacrifice their me time for kids and it pays off

One thing you missed... The ability of thriving under pressure... For Indian folks the pressure is part and parcel of their culture... And i believe that is one of the determining factor

My nephew, who was a graduate student at University of Southern California entered Microsoft as an intern.
He was mistaken as pizza delivery boy as he was just 21 at that time.
He smilingly showed them his ID card and assured his much older colleagues that he was the new intern indeed.🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳😊😊👍

Very good insight. I am Chinese but i agree with the points in this video. I used to have an Indian team in Mumbai who are well educated, very professional, driven and always deliver well. Indian people is a great people and will keep thriving! Though within India the bureaucratic systems slow down many things but they are not fault of Indian people in general. Actually Indians are doing well in a western culture like US demobstrate strength of Indian people in culture, education, dedication.

We Indians love life and each other, including everyone in the world. We have an ancient saying: "Vaisudeva Kutumbhakam" - the world is one family.

Honesty. Helps them build a good foundation and keeps on building. Also an unselfish desire to help their community

One more thing I would like to add. Indians stick to one company when its small or just a startup and continues their job even when its big and multi billion dollar.
This gives them first preference of promotion over most of their colleague who are almost newly arrived.

It's not about brain drain or Indians living to serve foreign MNC's but it is about whatever Indian parents did or doing and the higher education system (not schools) is really working. Now, only thing India need to ensure that it is able to deliver the growth opportunities to Indians in India 🙏🇮🇳

Building wealth involves developing good habits like regularly putting money away in intervals for solid investments. Financial management is a crucial topic that most tend to shy away from, and ends up haunting them in the near future. Putting our time and effort in activities and investments that will yield a profitable return in the future is what we should be aiming for. Success depends on the actions or steps you take to achieve it. "You're not going to remember those expensive shoes you bought ten years ago, but you will remember every single morning when you look at your bank account that extra 0 in there. I promise, that's going to be way more fun to look at everyday", I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life
