I'm poor so it'll just be throwing the bullets really fast by hand for me

LPVO for me. 1-10x is better for long range shooting and works at close range.

ACOGs are kinda overpriced for a fixed power scope and less versatile than LPVOs.

EOTech and Magnifier is also kinda expensive, bulkier, and has less utility than a LPVO.

LPVO. As a 308 guy, the greater zoom potential of an LPVO is much more useful, though I'd say a 1-8 is better than a 1-10 for typical engagement ranges

Doesn't matter what sight you have if you dont train.

I loved the ACOG during my GWOT days as an Infantryman. The durability is unsurpassable and can alter a BG’s decision making process at 700m with a M4 and M855 and M855A1. Is it optimal for that role? Of course not.

I have a pile of LPVOs that look good on paper but not so much in-person. Damn marketing, lol.

I love the EoTech for dynamic, close range shooting and I sat on the fence forever about a magnifier, but only made sense to try it. Finally bought the 5x and love it! It works amazingly well on my go to suppressed 14.5 out to 400yds (length of my range). Can remove it for home defense as it’s not needed - saving weight and bulk.
200 yds with just a 1x EoTech is a chip-shot and parallax is a non-issue. The biggest downside, IMHO, is those like me with an astigmatism. Doesn’t matter in CQB with uncorrected eyes, and easily correctable when on the go, so-to-speak. The 5x magnifier makes the holographic image look like a traditional reticle! Also, the EoTech is compatible and friendly with night vision… additionally, can remove the magnifier and use it as a stand-alone monocular where looking through a LPVO (and pointing a firearm might be frowned upon by varying laws).

At the end of the day, get what you want and train! In a metro area during a SHTF like scenario, long range shooting is unlikely whereas fast, chaotic, fluid and dynamic shooting would be more likely and common. If I lived out west, a LPVO or 2-10 etc might be a better choice. With society intact, might be hard justifying a shot at distance where a LPVO “shines, ” but might be useful for 3-Gun or those shooting past 400-500 yds fairly regularly - not just fantasizing about it, lol.

A down side is wind can mess with a 77 grain OTM past 300 yds. when fired from shorter barrels. Having a tree-like reticle can really help with fast follow-up shots.

Anyway…

Stay safe, Kings and Queens!

I prefer 1-6 LVPOs. The eye box and eye relief are MUCH better than 1-8s and definitely 1-10s. TR25s would be incredible if they had a really great reticle. My 1-8 Vudu is ok but it's just like my Credo, Razor gen 2-E, and Delta Stryker except more expensive.

Depends on rifle length, LPVO will always be goofy as hell on a shorter AR so I'd run a eotech and magnifier. Something longer then I'd put an lpvo on it

Mission dictates gear. If youre hunting a fox or something, an LPVO is best for you. If youre defending a home, an eotech w/ magnifier is probably best. If youre outfitting 600, 000 troops, the acog is probably best because theyre hard to break.

Acog with eotech on top lmao flex on everyone

I've used a few LPVO, but never a FFP. If you're gonna do one, then that EOTech is clearly a good way to go. The fact that the 1x circle disappears and the dot becomes the 10x circledot is just beautiful.

I'm diversifying. My 5.56 carbine will be running a red dot with magnifier. My .308 rifle is probably getting an LPVO.

This is entirely dependent on context.
Scopes that go beyond 1-6× zoom will have far more drawbacks regarding the eye box and parallax, requiring the use of a micro red dot for short range use no matter what you do.

Fixed optics meanwhile are the most consistent, though ACOGs are overpriced for what they offer.

If I was rich, definitely an Acog with a red dot on top.

Depends. For most people and rifles a eotech/aimpoimt with the option of a magnifier is more than sufficient. You have the option of magnification for further pid. Also a really good duty oriented setup.

Acog probably least favorite option but it is nice to run when paired with a good red dot. A top mounted rmr or ideally an offset t2 is actually a really nice setup though not very cost effective. All said and done you could get yourself into a great lpvo in the same price range being roughly 2k

Lpvo. Heaviest option. But no batteries needed, very easy to use and adjust, great extended range for pid. But I would not want to rely on an offset dot if the rifle will be primarily used in closer quarters. Downside price. You’re gonna be well into the 2k range or more if you want a nice lpvo like a leupold nightforce atacr kahles and vortex razor etc

Bottom line set your stuff up affording to how you use the rifle. One setup isn’t going to be sufficient for all your needs. Focus on what you do most and what your goal
For the rifle is and work from there.

ACOG with the RMR mounted atop it. Ive got one (a fiber optic clone but decently built) while in service, I've used all 3 of the above. On the M4a1, the LPVO owns. The EoTech is also alright. On the MK14ebr in 7.62x51nato, the ACOG performed best out to 800m.

On any rifle at 16 plus inches I put an lpvo on anything between 12.5 and 145 I put an ACOG and on anything shorter than that I put the EOTech and magnifier

all have their uses, all are useful, all are better than iron sights. ACOGs have been dropping bodies before EoTech thought to put a magnifier behind the 512, which has also been dropping bodies before Vortex and Nightforce decided to make a 1-6x FFP scope.

I see a lot of people saying,
"This scopes dead, this optics the new GOAT, " yadda yadda yadda
Then someone with their Amazon goober red dot or irons out shoots them because they don't train as much as they argue about glass.
