If you've recently switched from iPhone to Android, or vice-versa, what was your experience like?

The only reason why I switched to s23u is I hate Tim Cook's mindset that he can sell iPhone as expensive as he want and customers will buy it anyway

Pro tip: the NFC chip in most Android phones is in the middle of the back of the phone. So instead of getting stressed out by the fact that you cant seem to figure out how to "tap the top of the phone" to access something, just hold the whole phone and hover the middle of the back over the NFC reader or payment machine and you will be golden.

Ive recently switched to the S23 Ultra after owning iphones since 2007, i can honestly say ive been missing out! The S23 ultra is an absolute multi tasking feature packed powerhouse, and the one thing that kept stopping me from switching, the superior battery life from the 11 pro max onwards, is now i feel actially better on the S23 ultra than my 14 pro max, i have now Sold my iphone and my ipad, and now im using the S23 ultra and Tab S8 Ultra.

I'm a apple user. This year I switched to S23ultra from iphone 12 max pro . It's just mind blowing experience. I don't care about hardware config, I'm just a normal ph user . Android is so easy and comfortable to use . Android has more freedom than ios . I'm never going back to iphone again and here in India apple pay has no use at all . Here gpay, phone pay and paytm are the most used payment app . Till now i haven't face any issue with payment system. Lastly I don't use smart watch so I've no idea about smart watch performance, I love normal manual wristwatch.

Android has the focus modes you mention at 8:52. On the S23 they're called routines and can set specific apps, wallpapers, sound profiles, etc as well as watch faces based on the routine you're using. The conditions for each routine can vary from a specific time range, connecting/disconnecting a bluetooth device, a specific app being used, or being at a specific location (i.e. turning on work mode when you pull into your work's parking lot). There are many more conditions, but these are the ones I use

The Android issues mentioned here, are not exactly conclusive platform issues. I have the S22 U (Exynos) + Tab S7 + GW 4 and all work well together. My watch & phone sound states are always in sync, I even have routines that adjust these based on different conditions. Google Home on Android does just fine on my TV & smart device control. Google Pay is just perfect on my phone & watch, except when I put my phone in this other magnetic cover which ruins the NFC functionality. The shutter lag exists only when you taking the full resolution 108mp pics, the standard pics don't lag at all.

Great vid. I agree with Apple Pay being so smooth, quick and error free compared to Google pay. But the little things like being able to swipe back from the right side of the phone, dragging notification centre down anywhere on the screen, endless customisation, faster charging and many more little features has made my switch to the Samsung S23 Ultra all the worthwhile.

My biggest problem with iOS was it killing background apps far too often and not allowing downloads in the background. I'd set off a Netflix or Google Podcasts download before a flight and get on the plane and they wouldn't be downloaded because iOS killed them in the background. Never happens on Android!

I do have both, android and iPhone. I really like iPhone due to the optimization of the apps. Especially the social media ones, the quality is not deteriorating. Currently using an iphone 13 pro max 512gb variant and Xiaomi 13 phone…

I went Android to Apple and have noticed that pretty much everything Apple does is so refined and all of their devices talk to each other so well. Really enjoyed Android but the OS is so incredibly fragmented (the watch / phone muting for example) that it’s difficult to think “it just works” like it will on Apple. I miss the Pixel camera for sure (I’m on iPhone 14 Pro and still prefer Pixel shots) but overall I find Apple provide a much more consistent and reliable platform.

The benefits of Apple is also partly a monopolistic issue for. Apple makes exclusivity deals, so developers don't make things for other platforms until a period of time later and even when they do go to Android the product is inferior. It's not always a technical issue either.

These type of practices I choose not to partake in as much as I can because I would be supporting a product that would limit my ability to fight back when it gets out of line. That's why I stick with Android. Nothing but competition. And of course Samsung is the King of that group. Yes I've had other Android phones. I loved my HTC back in the day.

Enjoying my S23 Ultra, coming from an iPhone 13 Pro Max, loving it, no planning on going back anytime soon. There were minor incontinences, but overall in plus for me

I have used both operating systems for several years and I find Android to be superior. Here in the US I have not experienced the issues you're having with Google Pay, it works equally well as Apple Pay. I do have the Samsung watch 5 pro and I really like it but I like my Apple watch ultra a bit more. I have a Pixel 7 Pro along with a iPhone 14 pro max, beside screen brightness and the video I like pretty much everything else on my Pixel better than the iPhone. I hope Google will make a Pixel watch more like the ultra at some point but for now I'm okay with keeping my toes in the Apple pool and swimming in the Android pool.

After year after year using iPhones, I went with the Motorola Razr (flip). Took a while to get used to but wow, stylish and easy to use. I like how I can customise various things too. Nearly all apps are on the app store too like iOS. Best decision

Switched in November last year from iphone 12 pro to the S22 Ultra, needed to for work and i'm loving the experience. Have since gotten into the Samsung Eco-system and bought the Tab S8 Ultra with keyboard, also the buds pro. The family are glad I made the switch, as they got all of my Apple products.
Love your videos Pete.

in November 2022 I switched from iphone xs to s22 ultra and I have not regretted once. I don't do alot of filming with it, but that might be the one thing that I am not entirely happy about. It's not as smooth as it was on the iphone. (not sure how to explain it ) I am very happy that the photos got less saturated ( I'm sure they can make it even better with upcoming updated perhaps) The insame zooming speaks for itself! Just insane and amazing.
I also had no trouble connecting different devices to my s22 ultra as I had on the iphone. (roborock for instance as well as garmin smart scale was a pain to get connected to my iphone but no problems on the s22 ultra.) I have never bought such an expensive phone before, so I am pretty sure I am not gonna return to an iphone.

Thanks for doing a review / comparison and not just talking about the camera for 20 minutes straight like most other YouTubers. Keep it up 👍

I found that using the Do Not Disturb mutes sound on both the watch and phone if you allow it to sync DND. That is great way of putting the differences between Apple and Android, neither is bad in itself, but just can give different experiences.

I do agree with you. A lot of people have moved to other messaging services. However it create a mess when you want to simply communicate with someone you have just met. Apple needs to adopt RCS so that we have an updated standard on both iOS and Android so that people can communicate like they should have been able to do years ago.

Most of my family and friends use Android and we can group message and instant chat through RCS and it works great. Anytime I communicate with an iPhone user, it's trash! Don't get me started when you try to share a video or receive a video from an iPhone user.
