What do you think of the S24 Ultra and the Samsung ecosystem?

made the switch from iphone to S23 ultra a year ago and very happy with that choice. Those that want to talk trash on Andriod really have not used it for extended perioid of time lately.

I've tried to do the opposite after using android for over 13 years, and I've found the iOS is the main reason I canceled it altogether. It's so limiting that it's frustrating to use on daily basis. No universal back swipe or button, no clipboard (VERY important for me), app settings aren't intuitive, can't split screen, notifications are horrible, and so on. It's very stable yes but it's severely lacking behind android in terms of UX and features.

You don’t realize how limiting IOS is unless you’ve been gone for a while. I’m back to my old 14Pro for the first time since Dec 2023. Somehow it feels like stepping back 2 years in time.

I was a life long Iphone user, I even worked for the company for 6 years. I swiched to android late last year and I absolutely love it. Currently using the s24 ultra and even tried to switch back to the iphone a few weeks ago. I lasted a week... haha

you talk about drowning your iphone 11 and getting a replacement, My mom had her S24 in the washer and dryer went through a full cycle and still worked no issues 😂

As far as the NFC goes, I believe the NFC transmitter on a Samsung phone is in the middle as opposed to the iPhone where its on the top of the phone. In the video, it looks like you keep trying to tap the top of the phone instead of the middle of the phone. I have a S23 Ultra and it works perfectly every time I use it.

Even on One UI, you don't have to swipe from the top to bring down the notification, there's a setting that you can enable, so that you can swipe down anywhere from the home screen to bring down the notification.

I JUST switched to my s24 yesterday. I was a longtime apple user since the 4s. lately, i've been a little bored with that side of the world. im really liking this switch back. i had legacy androids like the HTCs, s3, mytouch, sidekick android. I forgot how many dang settings for everything there are.

I want to say I've had absolutely no issues with NFC or Google pay, I did notice you hold your phone in a weird way, as if the signal came from the top of your phone, the way NFC works you need the phone and the reader to be parallel to each other. I always aim for the reader as if it was a wireless charger and I was about to charge my phone and I've had no issues this way. The few times I've had to try twice it was because I failed to do this but I quickly got the hang of it.

On unfocused photos like 7:27, you can change the autofocus on people in the gallery by simply swiping the photo up and changing the background effect.

Android totally has the "your password is used on the dark web" feature. It's originally a Google feature.

The ability to swipe down anywhere on the home screen to get the notification panel is part of the Samsung UI as well. Your notification sound issue is a little bit confusing you like the idea of being able to set up different ones for different notifications, but you don't have time to set it up??? Also, no matter how far any settings is hide in the settings, you can just search it, and it is there immediately. Also try Swiftkey keyboard as well. And don't forget to change that shat Samsung phone dialer for something much better. Some real T9 search capable one ;)

I like hearing your opinions about the switch. It's really cool to hear. Glad you are enjoying the phone and sticking with it. 😊

I still consider myself to be a primarily Android person. I first bought an iPad in 2022 and an iPhone 13 Pro a year and a half ago. I honestly don’t understand the appeal of the ecosystem, never used it. What I love about the iPhone, though, is Face ID and the quality of the video and Camera. It really surprises me that with the iPhone what I see in front of me is what the phone captures. No saturated colours, no over sharpening.

I had the same problem with NFC like you in the beginning when switching from iPhone to Samsung. I found that the NFC chip is not at the same place as it is on the iPhone, it is more in the middle/beneath the camera. If you hold the phone horizontally instead of vertically which you do now, it wont fail. It doesnt for me anyway.

I switched to Samsung 7 years ago and never had any of the issues you talked about. I can bring my phones to 5 different independent repair shops in my area and in almost every case have it fixed in hours. I keep my last phone as a backup and have only used it once. You know you're misleading people.

Absolutely love mine. Zero desire to pick up my 15 PM since I've been using it.
