Never use vegetable oil 😢
Pat dry and salt room temp steak
Hot pan, lay out the steak.
2 minutes then turn. Another 2 minutes then turn again.
Steak is now seared and should be forming a nice crust.

Lower heat to medium. Repeat 1 more time. Pan should be cool enough to add a generous amount of butter without it burning. Peel and Add 2 while garlic cloves and some rosemary if you have it.

Once butter is foaming, baste the top sides and keep flipping every 2 minutes.

While thing should take no more than about 6-8 minutes. Then rest for about 10 -15 minutes.

don’t use any kind of vegetable oil. They are unstable, and not even edible when first extracted from whatever the source is supposed to be.

They are massively inflammatory. No matter what the source.

You cannot beat a stable healthy saturated. Fat you just can’t.

If you want a higher smoke point than butter provides then use ghee. This is just clarified butter.

Better yet, use beef tallow. (Beef fat). Lard (pork fat for pork dishes) or coconut oil for asian dishes.

The flavour if these is more intense and NATURAL then you could ever imagine.

Then look up this video. It will change your life…..for the better 😊

To cut down on the smoke in the house I put the steak in a 400 degree oven right after searing it for 2 min. The steak stays in the oven for 6-7 minutes depending on the thickness

I think you meant an oil with a high smoke point. Looks good though.

After searing the steak for a minute on each side, remove it from the pan. Add butter and herbs to the pan on low heat until the butter foams completely. Return the steak to the pan and baste it for an additional three minutes on each side. Remove and let it rest, the residual heat will cook the steak to medium-rare, infusing it with flavor.

I use olive oil and steak seasoning. I use chef Ramsey's method of flipping every 30 seconds till medium rare.

I just found another method on Ew Toob where that person cooks to almost medium rare then wraps the steak in foil to rest for 15 minutes. I tried this with top sirloin and WOW, did that ever make a huge difference!

Flip your steak more than once people. It’ll give it a more consistent crust and cook evenly. Also salt your steaks with kosher salt and let it sit in fridge so the steak can absorb the moisture leaving the surface easier to crust.

I can really show y’all how to not waste a steak

No pepper... Everything other than salt will burn on a high heat. Season with pepper when done.😊👍

Could I do this in a regular pan? I don’t have cast iron pan

What should be the total cooking time of the steak?

Flipping frequently is the way to go. No gray band effect.

You should push down the steak a little but. Those grey spots are the spots that didnt hit the oil, it essentially steamed it

How to cook medium rare steaks - Cook them to anywhere between 125 and 135 degrees. Use a thermometer and you can get the same steak every time without guessing.

why not just use the butter as your oil?

I like to add alittle bit of oil on both sides of steak before applying salt and pepper

Vegetable oil is incorrect but a solid effort!

You want something with a High smoke* point. Grape seed oil is fantastic and gives a deeper flavor profile and can handle higher heat for searing. Keep up the great content 👍💯 I'm a big steak lover and love to see people branching into steaks 💯
