I’m working on strength training (30 mins x 5 times per week) but I have to be careful with cardio - if I did what you suggest I would have severe post exertional malaise. I recently tried a Peleton session for 20 minutes and I was unable to function at all for 3 days. Bad brain fog, lethargy, I couldn’t even read never mind move my body. Then I had to get takeout because I couldn’t cook. I can only assume this had a huge effect on my cortisol levels. If I sprint as you suggest, it will deplete me and render me useless. Instead, I use an elliptical or walk on a treadmill at 12% incline. I’m with you on the strength training, I’m just learning all about how important it is. But heavy cardio scares me because of how my body reacts to it. I’m 50 and peri menopausal.
