In this video titled I Formed The EASTERN ROMAN EMPIRE As BYZANTIUM In EU4 I play as Byzantium in Europa Universalis 4. This could also be viewed as an EU4 Byzantium guide. In this playthrough as Byzantium my ultimate goal is to form The Roman Empire, complete the Byzantium mission tree and conquer all of the provinces that were once owned by The Roman Empire. After four years of making videos this is my first full playthrough of Byzantium in vanilla EU4. Enjoy! This is Part 3.

This dismantle nightmare happens to me many times. Here is what I usually do: peace out the emperor from the original war first, then declare somehow on the missing elector (this case Trier). This war is possible and the allies of the emperor can't be in it since they still in the original war. Take the capitals and gg

6:25 the AI loves devving everywhere in the latest patch, the coal thing was like 1-2 years ago, if you leave any little country alone for too long all of their provinces will have 40 dev (looking at you HRE minors, Kutai and Berau)

Getting Russia as a PU as Byzantium is almost a staple in the campaign. I've never played Byzantium in Ironman but I've gotten a few non-Ironman runs going and the Russian PU has happened every single time

This series inspired me to try my own Roman Empire run starting as Florence! (every time I’ve tried it in the past the game updated in the middle of play through so I couldn’t continue with the campaign 😢). I kid you not, Austria inherited Hungry, Bohemia, Burgundy, and diplo annexed Bavaria and it takes my alliance network of France, the Ottomans, and the Commonwealth to even make a dent into them

Hey Red longtime fan, for the trade node mission I believe you can move your trade capital to a different trade node and the mission will work in that one instead. So like moving your trade city to Rome will use the genoa trade node to fulfill the mission. Made it so much easier for me in my byz run a while back Love the recent multi part series!
