The Senate of Constantinople: The History of the Eastern Roman/Byzantine Senate.

The administrative reforms that the Byzantines created often go unmentioned, they're some of the coolest things that this empire did in my eyes. It may not be as plain badass as flamethrowers and incendiary grenades, but it's one of the many reasons to love the empire as much as I do. Almost certainly my single most favourite historical state.

I didn't have any clue about how the ERE organised their armies, yet that's how I pretty much did it in EU4.

I do not do it strategic games, because I am always on war. Any recruit goes to front where is needed the most. If I have more units than I need and can hold them in center it means I can use them to push somewhere.

I unknowingly did this in CK2 since I play East Roman Empire. Funny that.

It's interesting how similar the Ottoman administration system was to that of ERE.

No wonder the Arabs took Egypt so easily. It feels like they didn't give the region the proper attention it deserved

Roman Empire at peak had 30 legions
While the Eastern Roman Empire could only get 6 field armies
