Surely you're not actually mystified why people do this at home. Very few can afford thousands of dollars for a dermatologist to do these treatments.

Micro needling got rid of my scars. I’m a certified electrologist, but it’s really not difficult to sanitise and do this yourself. Most people can visibly see where skin is thicker and where it isn’t. And you can control the depth of even the cheapest pen devices at home. They come individually wrapped. I usually agree with Dr Dray, but this is bizarre

I love dr dray, but i disagree with her that at home microneedling is a waste of time. It did wonders to my scars too

If it wasn’t so expensive I wouldn’t need to do it at home. :-/
My dermatologist got me using one at home.

Sorry to say that this technique is actually very easy to perform at home and much cheaper for a lot of us. Thank you for trying 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sorry have to disagree with this. I’ve been using a Dr Pen for years and you can adjust depth and speed! It’s not brain surgery to learn how to do this🤷🏼‍♀️ at home Results are fantastic and I’ve saved thousands of dollars.

This looks like a marketing video so that the deramtologists can continue to make a killing. There are so many users who have such great results at home by using 0.25 and 0.5 depths, which don't cause any bleeding and every single one stresses that sanitzing afterwards is crucial! And replacing the rollers after, say, ten times usage. It is safe doing it like that! Very safe and so rewarding!

Drs will never say at home treatments work because they don’t get paid to say that… they don’t want to lose their clients… My skin has changed since I been doing my micro needling at home… been doing it for about a year now and I’m very happy with my results…

Health industry defending their own interests, once again... Anyway, thanks for your concern on us, poor people who cannot pay absurd amounts of money for a treatment that can be made at home... Microneedling requires a lot of knowlegde on this issue, research and responsibility, because though it is simple, there are lots of precautions to be taken before, during and after treatments. But it is something you can do if you get very well informed.

If you can make a list of effective beauty treatments that can be safely done at home then Microneedling will top that list. Period. Dermatologists are scared stiff that this secret is out.

I have found the best way to get people to be safe with procedures is to EDUCATE about how to use the less affordable options, instead of criticizing and inhibiting people from what they can find benefit from. It's not my case now, but not everyone has had the opportunities you have had. It's nice to take that into consideration when speaking to the public.

im micro needling for a year now and I've seen so much improvement on my skin, using 0, 75mm needles

I dermaroll with a .75 mm roller. Once a month. Alcohol on my face, wash hands, and sterilize the roller for 20 minutes before use. Never had an issue. 8 rolls per area horizontally and then vertically, picking up the roller each time. Gentle cereve moisturizer afterwards. No make up for 2 days. Sunscreen like crazy. Has done wonders for my skin.

I’ve been microneedling at home for years and it’s helped me not have to get Botox so often if at all.

I have seen great improvements from using my dermaroller at home. I have never bled, go slowly, avoid sensitive areas, and sterilize the roller before and after every use. Definitely do your research before using one and make sure you know what you're doing. Everything Dr. Dray said in this video is true -- it's risky but if you do it correctly you will be fine.

The same way this dermatologist is trying to justify using only her profession for procedures is like a chef telling the public that they should never cook at home because they might get food poisoning and you will never be able to cook food to the same standard as a chef also it is always better to eat out and spend a fortune on a meal instead of preparing your own meals at home at an economical cost .

I can already see this video is going to be controversial...

Microneedling with a small dermaroller at home has really helped my acne scars but I totally understand how it can be very dangerous and not sanitary at home.

I appreciate those professionals out there that teach safety, risks, and precautions, and not necessarily those who would make you feel like an incompetent idiot who would buy a “brain surgery kit” along with your dermaroller (what a cool little bundle that would be 🙄). The message is important but the approach is a little insulting and condescending. Dermarolling at home has been nothing but beneficial for me personally, but I am careful every step of the way and have done my research.

I just started micro needling on my face 2 months ago using a .5mm dermaroller. No negative side effects thus far as I make sure to dunk it in rubbing alcohol before and after my sessions.
