Avoid one week before-
Retinol
Chemical exfoliant
Shaving/waxing (Threading is allowed)

1. Disinfect in 70% isopropyl alcohol for 5-10mins
2. Hydrating Tone
3. Numbing cream (not necessary)
4. Two directions only
5. Don't derma roll around eye at home
6. Pinpoint bleeding is fine
7. Rinse dermaroller in soapy water without blunting the tips and then disinfect and air dry
8. Use NAFE SAFE, skin neutral product afterwards
9. Aloe vera, niacinamide, vit c can be applied later

Why can’t we have people like you in Canada?! Who are actually dedicated to help others with their knowledge instead of just looking after our money😩

This is so complicated and delicate that there’s no way I’m doing this without a doctor or dermatologist

Hi doctor V, I am a beautian and a woman of colour. The home dermallor is 0.2 ml or 0.3 ml to use safe at home. The needles are shorter and safer for users at home and you don`t have to numb your skin. Especially the needles from 1.0 ml and above are to be use in the salon by a trained esthician, not for use at home. So for people to use at home i would advice the 0.2 ml or 0.3 ml and not from 1.0 ml and above, because they are not trained to do it.

This video needs to be an essential video for POC using derma rolling to treat hyperpigmentation, stretch marks and collagen production. This is well thought out, you cover the basics, the ways to do it safely, what millimeters are appropriate for what concern. Something which other videos do not! Thank you Dr. V! ❤️

Would love to know what brands you recommend for the dermaroller?

Don't forget to check a dermaroller that you want to buy has genuine needles with high quality of stainless steel. Avoid any fake dermaroller with fake needles which is made with hidden "tiny triangle" metals which may cause more negative effects like deeper scars and allergy. Some people can be allergic to certain types of metals.

For those who wants to try microneedling or dermarolling, it's very important to do intensive researches and homeworks. It's because it can bring more harm than good if you make a single mistake. It's better to be safe than sorry.

What kinds of skins should not do it, what you need to do, what activities you should not do, what skincare products and foods to avoid after dermarolling/microneedling.

Do not listen to only one "person". Explore as many as you can to learn some mistakes, successes, advices, and suggestions from users, dermatologists, estheticians, and doctors. Then, only take what are good for your personal skin. Always listen to your body/skin.

I love that you only do non-sponsored video's because I refuse to buy anything from a sponsored video. If a person likes something they will talk about it, not only when they're getting paid to rave about how much they love a product.

I would love to see a video or a series of videos on keloids for skin of color. Some of the topics could include skincare for keloid scars for those of us who are not getting them medically treated?; What are the safer types of medical treatment for those who want to flatten their keloid scars other than silicone sheeting?; Is chemical exfoliation (i.e. mandelic, salicylic acid) safe for on or around the scars to keep breakouts at bay for those of us who got keloids from acne? If anyone else is interested in this topic and would like to add some other questions to the thread, please do. I would really like to see this topic covered.

I'm so glad your videos are not sponsored. This makes me trust what you say more than anyone else. Thank you.

Thank you so much for this! I was so confused if derma rolling on SOC would cause more harm than good but now that you've said it's okay (within reason), I feel much more confident trying it. And YES PEPTIDES please!

Thank you Dr. V, I agree with you, I have been a victim of micro needling, it didn’t not work for me on the contrary I ended up getting hurt from it as I believe the clinician used high level needles on me causing damage and causing internal inflammation and hurt! 3 years later I have healed quite a bit. Micro needling Never again for me!
