Hey doc snipes, I'm wondering if it's similar to generational trauma info. For example: a family says, "For years x group of people are only out to get us. It's an us vs them." I'm wondering if there's a way to undo that mentality of automatic labels from generational trauma?

thank you very much! your way of structuring and wording it is fantastic. I especially like the part about keeping a log of such beliefs, I wouldn't have thought it up myself

I thank you for making these videos. In listening I can relate in what I did in the past and not wanting to repeat these "traps of failure in the future forcing me to keep on moving forward. If that makes sense.

I am not angry with myself. I am angry with the people who abused me. I was not to blame. I did nothing wrong. The guilt and shame belong to the abusers.

I think only Therapy can help with trauma. I have been trying to help my self for years without seeing any improvement. I hope I could find one.

As a young woman I have a trauma belief about doctors but it happens to be true in my case. It took 11 years to get a diagnosis for a neurological disease and they still treat me like shit. Neglegence, prejudice, laugh at me, anger when I speak my mind. How can one accept trauma when its still going on and will forever ? This is not some random thing. My life, health and financial situation are in the hands of those horrible people.

I was going to ask is there a difference between “core beliefs” and “automatic negative thoughts/feelings”?
For example having the thought: “I am unlovable”
I think the movie inside out 2 does an amazing job at showing how core beliefs thoughts and feelings can all be mixed together in our psyche. Would love for you to expound on this

"You're afraid if you let go of that guilt..." it means I am powerless and just a victim of circumstances that i am helpless against.

Thank you very much for this information! I have never heard a therapist relay this before, i thought it was just a personal rigid thinking style. This makes sense now and helps reduce shame based thinking.

Cheat me once, shame on you.
Cheat me twice, shame on me.
Learning from experience is paramount.

Unforgettable that’s what you are
Unforgettable though near or far
Like a song of love that clings to me
How the thought of you does things to me
Never before has someone been more
Unforgettable in every way
