It's been more than 7 years since I started making music and posting on Whitesand. For those who don't know I studied and finished architecture bachelors degree right before I started and trying my luck on Youtube. At that point in 2016 I had not much musical experience or understanding how to make music and when I started my idea actually at the start was to make guitar jams/improvisations. I wanted to become a great guitar player and thought to make content around it. My biggest inspiration at that moment was John Frusciante from Red Hot Chilli Peppers. I loved how simplistic his melodies and harmonies were, but at the same time they felt emotional and purposefull, honest.

When I started experimenting with music software I came to learn how to layer sounds and use digital instruments like piano, drums and others. I started experimenting with those and first instrumental track came around.(even now you can go back and listen to some of the first tracks and see the quality comparison) In the span of few months I spend all my time literally watching youtube tutorials, reading articles online, experimenting and trying to write music. At that time I was listening myself a lot of instrumental stuff from Two Steps From Hell, Hans Zimmer and some other I was really hooked on it and thought it would be really cool to make something similar myself. Even though I wanted to be a good guitar player at that time and maybe to sing, write songs in the future, I also wanted to explore this area/style of music. Also, when I started doing it I felt like songs where coming around naturally for me when I was just trying to write something with emotion and intention. As months come by I continued to work on it and it became easier and easier to express myself and the views, subs slowly increased which really gave me motivation to keep going.

I've stuck with this style of music for a long time, trying to improve, write better, more honest music and I think I am quite happy with the number of tracks and progress I have made in these 7 years. I started to make a living from music in the process which allowed me to feel more confident and expressive as a musician. Making music requires quite a lot of money and this was a big factor in my development too, cause money you earn can be invested back in the equipment, knowledge and so on.

Around 3 years passed with my Whitesand journey and I became more aware of what I wanna do - just to write good music. Guitar, singing and songwriting was always in my mind, but I kept postponing it in some way and kept writing instrumental music. I simply liked doing it. Also more opportunities presented itself, I started working with other people, writing stuff for them personally and growing whitesand too. At that point in time I decided to try going for a singing lessons in my hometown where I live now (In Vilnius, Lithuania). I became aware that singing is not as easy as I thought haha and I needed to work a lot to get better at it, but I liked doing it a lot. And it took quite a long time to develop as a singer. Basically starting from no experience to be able to sing in front of people confidently took about 4-5 years, with a lot of ups and downs and hard work.

In those years between when I started taking singing lessons and now, around 5 years passed, and I developed so much as a person and a creator. I matured as a person too, some of my views and beliefs changed. I've gained confidence and determination to try writing songs and singing myself. Because before I didn't feel ready. Around 1, 5 years ago I gave singing songs a try and written a song called Nightmare. It felt like it was a song I was determined to release some day. And a year later I did, with a music video clip.

In these 6 months I came to terms that I want to separate my singing and cinematic journey and separate my accounts. Whitesand being for cinematic music and Marside (my new channel).

Its a new channel with 50 subs and few hundred views on new songs. So I start from the scratch haha. Its kinda scary and excited to start all over again.

I also want to say thank you everyone for listening to my music all these years. I appreciate every single view and listen. And also this is not the end of Whitesand, cinematic music will continue and return when I will finish writing my first singing album in a month or so. But I will have 2 musical projects from now on :)

This is the song that played in my head when I got in an accident in my first car. My e36 bmw that I worked so incredibly hard for was totalled by a drunk driver. All my memories I had in that car with my friends and learning to drive manual for the first time and me and my girlfriend having a good time flashed back in my head. This song really makes all the memories better. I always thanked that car for keeping me and my girlfriend safe in a crash that shouldn't have been survivable. It's hard to imagine but when I think of all the memories this song plays along with them

I’m going to use this song in my videos to tell the stories of children who are forgotten. This song may not have words, but the sound of it is perfect

I first came across this sad and beautiful song when a fellow Swamp Thing fan used it for a music video it was totally beautiful and captured their dynamic from the first 4 episodes.

As a writer this song can be used for inspiration for so many scenarios! A hero who remembers the losses he suffered and and gains he made, a widow being smacked in the face from a child asking about their father - she remembers how he was taken from them and the good things he did, or a friend supporting another friend when they need someone for support

Perfect, that first one minute is the exact mood I've been going for. Minor key, not in-your-face-epic-sadness but soft background, and ever so slight potential to be creepy. Phew, I've been trying to find the right stuff for like 45 minutes now, thank you, I'll be using this.

The guitar at 3:08 has trapped me in its beauty of sounding soooo magical. I am just mesmerized. It's like you are at the top of hill, with cool breeze blowing all your worries away in thin air. The weather being cloudy and dark blue. An eternal serenity. No stress, no work, no sadness, no happiness, no guilt, no emotion, just me and my lovable memories. Even these words do no justice to how BEAUTIFUL it sounds.

I always say that give just 10-20 min of your 24hr day, to appreciate nature. It really gives an internal peace to me. You should try it too, maybe it will have the potential to even cover those wounds and scars of yours which time could not heal.

beautiful, tranquil and distant. It definitely touches upon ones emotions and sets them adrift in their feelings. Thank you again for creating yet another masterpiece for us to indulge in.

this song reminds me of how many good times i have had with my guinea pig for the past 7 years. His name was Chee Chee and he was one of the best pets i have ever had, when he died i couldn't post videos or anything for how sad i was, i remember playing with him every single day, those were such good times with him. R.I.P Chee Chee, you will always be in my heart and i will never ever forget you.

Listening to this song while going through a break up. It helps me to get into the emotion and grieve the loss as I reflect on all of the good times. However it doesn't keep me there. Parts of the song give me strength, hope and take me out of the sadness as I look on to greater things. Sadness and sorrow but also motivation and knowing that I have grown from this time. Cheers.

I know I am a bit late to the parts, but man this song hit different. I lost one of my best teachers about a year back to cancer, her funeral day is now approaching or more like the anniversery of her funeral, this osunds so bad. But anyways, this song made me remember all the good and fun memories I had with her and how she always pushed me to my limits in school, so that I could become the best student I could be. It still hurts to remember all that, but this song somehow makes it more endurable, I just wanted to thank you Whitesand. You have a gift and I hope that you will succed and become famous for that gift, cause this music is incredible.

Thank you.

Just lost my dog of 14 years. Found this and it is holding me together and tearing me apart at the same time. We are all so fragile.
