INTRO LYRICS:
artist: Dwayne Ford

lyrics:
So many years have come and gone
So much is lost in time
But I still remember you

Standing upon the place where you and I had stood
So long ago - I remember you

I can recall the wind that blew your hair across my face
Like it was part of me
And though that world is lost to me now
Ten thousand miles across the sea
Now I remember you
- by Dwayne Ford, ''I Remember You'' from ''American Epic'' album

I remember a man who shared his secrets with me. I felt such love for him at that moment. I felt blessed to know this part of him. I hope that he has continued to be honest and open the way he was with me. He may not realize it, but his willingness to share with me opened me to the truth of myself. His truth has changed me forever. It was like looking in a mirror. I will always remember. You were my wake-up call.

"I still remember the way she looked at me that day. The last day." Even the numbing headache and pain stitches seemed to fade for a minute as he said it. "I would go to any war for that glance." A faint smile creased his face.

"Then you better survive." The doctor said. " Not every one of you has a reason left to go back now. You've got something precious. "

"That's why I'm here Doc. The face that day wasn't smiling. It was crying as I left her. And it'll keep crying till this war goes on." The doctor injected his arm with morphine. " I need to heal up and win this war." The nurse beside the Doc laughed.

"I will. Believe me!" He said to her. To all.

"Even if you do...Even if you somehow win this war. You'd still need to survive. Otherwise, that cry will still go on. It may never fade, son." The doc said. "Rest up. The fight is not over yet."

"It never is..." The soldier said as he went to sleep.

I notice in the artwork, the woman has wounds on her back where wings would normally attach. It makes me wonder about the intro and who she's really talking about. I love the whole combination of art and music here that just makes you want to imagine whole worlds of stories about them. Thank you for making this video. I love it.

Long ago my Grandma fell Inlove with This Sailer. He gave her a necklace made of sea pearls he found in a cave. She always wore it and never took it of... Until, She Lost it in the ocean. Years later when I was born My grandma and the Sailer passed away. And I was visiting a beach the year. I was walking to collect some shells and there I found a pearl necklace with my grandma and My Grandpa's Name carved in one of the pearls. I took it and Kept it for a Memorie of them. I've always dreamed of meeting mermaids and I wonder if this necklace has something to do with them...? I will never know..

"When the music expresses how you feel inside...how your very soul feels, and you didn't even create the music, someone else did, you realize people go through similar feelings of love and loss, pain and grief, emptiness and loneliness... And they can express that shared human experience with beautiful and sometimes haunting waves of sound... It gives our hurting minds and souls a little dose of peace in knowing we aren't alone in these experiences of emotions. We may very well be alone in the sense of not sharing a bed, not sharing heartstrings...not having one to call part of our chosen "heart-family", but we are very much not alone in these experiences. Music... It unites us, as lonely souls, not only to eachother but also to a shared expression. This is one reason as to why music, at it's core, is fundamental to the human experience. Music is art. Art is expression. Expression is a manifestation of our love and our hate, our fears and our courage, our desires and our hopes, our chaos and our peace... And music, is a way we can share these expressions. Even if not from our own creativity but someone else's. And this... This is why music is important beyond description."

The longing that consumes us... that continuous fire in which hopes, desires, pains burn together. The ashes that remain represent only the memories, those reversible journeys of the soul. Even if they hide not only joys, but also sorrows, each memory preserves an emotion, an image, a state. There are those moments that have remained in place only because they have a special meaning for the soul...❤
I love your compilation, it takes me back in time to the paths of memories... thank you!

You did all that not just for your loved ones, but you extended your gift of a peaceful world to everyone!! And even if you sacrificed yourself for that and aren't able to see the world you created with your sister and everyone you love, I'll see it and tell you all about it when we meet again!! And I'll always remember you and have you in my heart!!❤️🌟 Thank you for everything!!!!💜🖤🌟👑✨

I am playing this music every morning welcoming my kindergarten students to classroom. The music brings calmness as they enter and play quietly waiting for class to begin. Thank you.

I like how it went from emotional to heartbreaking to a completely dark tone.

The power that comes from experiencing sadness and happiness, memories of love and the joy of it and the loss, this is so meaningful and the way the instruments feel and what they do to me as I listen to this masterpiece, thank you for giving me this gift to hear this song. Your amazing work is a blessing to me.

Listening to this as wishing I was swept away from my present situation and swept into the arms of the one that could love and hold onto my feelings forever.

Wow wow wow. This transcends human understanding. It goes far beyond understanding. Goes right to our core. Deep to whatever makes us, us. Whatever that may be, this music becomes one with it. Like, whatever makes us, us understands this majestic music.. It becomes less worthy if you try to put our two human senses into it to try to explain something of his music that for an unbeknownst reason, our soul, subconscious, or whatever we want to call it feels right to us all. For an unknown reason we yet have the capability to understand...to comprehend... To simply put it. For me, I use this music to set myself up to remember what I have lived, who have I lived with in this world, who have I loved, lost, memories made..Because at the end, no one is truly dead as long as memories exist. Look at Aristotle, Alexander the Great.. They were remembered and written about. Yes, they are long gone. But are they truly gone? We are lost and gone for people with Alzheimer's...And yet, I believe if they listen to this type of majestic music, they will find they're way home. Wherever that may be. What makes "us" us understands...even if we consciously don't... I for one, will continuously listen to this. Drift into the memories of the past, keep living the present, hope for the future, and embrace the end. Like one great men said...

Haungtingy beautiful music. It's the middle of the night and another night I cannot sleep. While I feel I'm alone and the world is asleep, this brings me a sense of comfort and I feel less alone. Seriously, thank you 💜
