Once a hafling ranger named Loras lived a happy life with his people. A singular night would change his life forever when brutes from the underdark came to his village and kidnaped everyone but the ranger that was not in the village that night. When he acknowledged what happened with his loved ones he went on a hunt to find them, he went deep on the underdark, was captured by drow, escaped, made friends, got to the city of gray dwarves and found his first lead to where his family wore. He helped three enslaved halfings to escape. He recognized the three as a family, where the father called Falpos was his childhood friend. Furthermore, he was very thankful for being saved from slavery. The son a mother were strange though, apathetic, distant. The father said that he and the villagers were brought to a alien place with alien monster that had purple mucous skin and tentacles on their faces. They were eating the brain of their victims and making experiments. Falpos escaped the monsters and rescued his wife and son, but while lost in the underdark was captured and enslaved by gray dwarves until Loras freed him. After a short adventure, Loras came back to a tavern where Falpos and his family wore. He went to his childhood's room to ask for more details about the alien place from where he escaped. Falpos was sleeping though and only his wife and kid wore awake, standing beside his bed. Loras found the scene a little weird and went to awake his friend anyway, but the wife grabbed his arm and he looked at her face confused. The woman's mouth opened enough so a naked cat like paw could pass, and then another paw, and another. Her head deflating while the grotesque creature crawled its way out. On the ground, the aberration stood upon for cat like legs and a body in the shape of an oozing huge brain. The same happened with the son, and two aberrations flanked Loras. He fought the monsters, but went unconscious when the creatures blasted him with psionic energy. When he woke up, he saw one of the creatures dead and his friends told him that the other disappeared out of thin air and that this coincided with his awakening. He felt strange, and somehow knew the location of the colony.
