Based on this video I understand that my MacBook should stay all the time in the box that came with and should be used while the box is sealed :)

Summary of the video with a focus on actionable advice & gathered insights

Macbook Usage
1. Use your MacBook on a hard, flat surface to prevent overheating and damage to the device.
2. Do not sleep with your MacBook to prevent crushing it.

Temperature
1. Avoid exposing your MacBook to direct sunlight or high temperatures to prevent overheating and damage to the device.
2. Keep your MacBook in proper conditions, with a recommended temperature range of 10 to 35 degrees Celsius, to maintain its performance and prevent battery damage.

Macbook Maintenance
1. Use your MacBook on a surface that does not collect dust to prevent overheating.
2. Regularly clean the dust from your MacBook to prevent overheating.

Performance
1. Overheating can cause damage to the components of the device, such as the CPU, and decrease in performance.
2. The CPU will lower its maximum frequency when the MacBook is placed on a soft surface and overheats in order to maintain an adequate temperature range. This process is called throttling.

These are great tips. I’ve had my MacBook that I bought in 2009 and did everything I’m not supposed to do. It finally bit the dust after 13 years. I miss it. 🤦‍♂️ 😂

i’ve really noticed that he’s very negative about everything he talks about. I wouldn’t always take his content to heart & take everything he says with a gain of salt.

Why does this guy look like a cocky conservative who tells you something that's completely untrue

For number 1, it depends on your workload. My macbook barely uses its fans, so that's fine for me to use it on any surface i want without any throttling, even for hours of use

Edit : if your macbook's processor is intel, forget about everything that i said

The oleohpobic coating peeling off on apple computers is ridiculous and has been happening for years. I haven´t seen any windows laptop with peeling of the coating and leaving those horrible markings on the display. And most of my friends have this on their MBPs. They should start addressing this issue asap

It's true that we shouldn't charge any Apple device with cheap chargers. It only affects the machine. Had a battery bulge for my iPhone 7 long back and the reason was this. And from then on I started using either Apple's or Apple certified chargers. Great video. Very helpful! Thank you!

So don't take it out of the box. Got it, thanks!

This is so absurd, any computer should be able to withstand that simple use

When it comes to Apple accessories always go with the expensive one and trust worthy brands. This is the lesson I learned since the iPod era. There is no such thing as cheap Apple compatible accessories.

I mean I have a MacBook Air and I don’t have a desk or flat surface or any room for one so I just play on my sheets. Idk what to do 🤷‍♀️😕

on my laptop, I always try to learn how the temperatures react to different tasks. For example, I know that web browsing on my m1 max 16 doesn't make the system very hot, so I know that the fans don't turn on and for that reason I'm comfortable using it on my bed for basic tasks. However, if I know I'm going to be doing something intensive, like rendering or gaming, and know that the fans will be running, I never do it in bed, and will always put it on a flat desk surface or at the very least on my lap being mindful not to block the vents.
